I listen to talksport most days and the H & J show have been following Ricketts over the past year. He was on the show a 2 weeks or so ago and said that he was looking for a club back in England. He only finished his season about four weeks ago and therefore is match fit and raring to go. said that money wasnt an issue as that doesnt motivate him, just needs to find a new club to reignite his career. Didnt feel he was ready for the Prem league as yet, but said that a number of clubs in league 2 were interested and one had offered him a trial. I think he could be an excellant signing and would once again be a fantastic addition to our squad, especially in league two.

Totally agree Rohan Ricketts was on the verge of the england squad just a few years ago whilst at spurs. Think for the right wages he would be a risk worth taking.

I have to say the opinion of myself and those around me yesterday, was that he did not look fit enough at all.

Spot on, if he wants to play regularly he really needs to be a lot fitter!

We all know his name and that he's good so let's see what PS and GC say, if he'd good enough/fit enough for them then I'll be happy if he signs

Interesting points made about Rickettes. some on here have said he looked ok, although not match fit others have said he was no where near the mark. thing about trials are there is a lot of pressure to perform and not much time. players like ricketts who already have some form of reputation would probably hold a slight advantage. be interesting if he is played tomrow nite.

I love the pre-season friendly & see how good the trialist are! Have u seen the clubs that R. Ricketts played for this year, he was playing for a German part timer club in 4th Division and for a club in Moldova too, so I wouldn't expect he was on big money there.

I don't think there is any doubt that he has the talent. It's whether he can get himself fit enough and able to show why he was held in very high regard a few years ago.

If he is not at Dartford tomorrow, that will tell us what PS thinks of him.

There is no doubt a fully fit and firing Ricketts would be way above League Two standard.

From the sounds of things Ricketts would make a very good signing, and he doesn't seem to care about the money.

Even if he's not fit enough now, get him on the right wages and he may well make as good an impact as Hall did last season, more so after January. This has been a very interesting and exciting pre season!

What I'd say about the Ricketts fitness thing is that if he comes in he's only missed a week of pre season and we have a chance to get him up to speed. It's not like taking on an unfit trialist during the season.

Very true.

I guess we will see if PS feels the same tomorrow evening.

If Ricketts is in the squad @ Dartford then perhaps so.

If not...

Other than Thomson, I would say (Dont know their names) the striker/midfielder from the park side, plus two centre halfs and Joe Holt on the wing. Perhaps the Sanchez Watt look a like who played right wing in the 2nd game as well.
Cheers Smiffy. I always like the idea of finding a talent from a park-side, a romantic dream that there's always hope. Be interesting to see if he gets invited back.
