Wasn't there yesterday, but sounds like you have a decent side, but why do you capitulate as soon as you let a goal in.

Seems one brings three very quickly, like the discipline goes?
No real backbone of a team, yeah we play decent stuff at times but fail to do anything with it before the inevitable happens. Same thing every week fella.

Yep, if you can get the defence sorted, there sounds like there's enough in the tank to get back up.

Burton, ourselves and Shrewsbury all went up with good defensive records last season.

On this grip about policing this game .You all know the state the club is in money wise .If the club had to bring in police for a one off game against a local rival .How many thousands do you think that would cost the club for this . On the point of stewards I'm sure they do the best they can .Lets face it the next game what will be the crowd size and how many of these fans that came along will be there Monday fortnight 6000 maybe and how many away fans will there be 150 to maybe 200 .So while not condoning the action of one so called fan the police could have been called in from outside the ground if needed .But nothing happened on or off the pitch to warrant it .I'm sure the FA will punish the club for one person .

I'd be interested to know the costs to have a dozen or so extra police in the ground v. the cost of a fine from the FA.

Also, we paid for an adequate police presence in the ground against Luton Town last season.

U's fan here, very silly behaviour from both sets of fans indeed. Undoubtedly morons in our end who were more interested in goading the home fans than watching the game, throwing coins and fighting with stewards is totally unacceptable. The bloke who ran on the pitch, well he's in for it, why oh why would anyone do that in today's football police era? He could lose his job, spend time inside alongside receiving a lengthy ban! The kid he punched is about 17 but as many have said if he was goading the whole time then it was hardly unprovoked to an extent. But we all take responsibility for our own actions and that fella will be paying a very heavy price now!

Anyway, as always it's just a minority. I'll choose to remember the vast amount of Southend fans who donated to Tom Leggets charity over one or two mindless idiots who think doing what they done yesterday makes them heroes, I'm sure they'll feel heroic in their police cell.

Yes if it was the same lad we took back to Colchester, he is 17 and had to have stitches.

Guy runs onto pitch then throws several hooks then is allowed back into the stand:stunned:

Away fans throw coins and try to get into the home end(pathetic attempt)yet nobody ejected:stunned:

Personally I can never understand why people fight over a game of football, and because I was unfortunately in the west I never saw any of the goals because the big blokes all around me were all bloody standing!

Never in the west EVER AGAIN,next sell out game if I cannot get better seats then I'm staying home

To make some cakes and jams I presume, quite right.

If these people want to fight so much pack em off to Syria or Iraq.

They are cowards that's why they fight at football. Send them to somewhere like Afghanistan or Iraq and when they get into a contact they would **** their little panties.

I'm a service police dog handler, I'm very surprised they haven't brought in a police dog for situations like this. Just having the dog there as a presence is enough to deter any would be heroes! I've seen it in mass brawls it kicks off as soon as a snarling Shepard comes in they soon change their behaviour.

To be fair, I think if you put a proper firm up against them, many would do so! It's not that their cowards necessarily, it's so often the amount of booze they consume beforehand that gives them such a feeling of bravado, add in the mix of a local derby against the U's and it was always going to be a problem.

The reputation of our club is quite important.

On the fines from the fa. Clubs are fined, not to punish but as a deterrent for not having enough policing. This was not a safe environment. One of our players was attacked by a "supporter"

RHB normally you are one of my favourite posters but in ones like this you are the worst. You obviously aren't a ShrimperZone veteran, if we were to have lost 3-0 the match thread would be filled full of people moaning and slagging the players. Check out the match threads after our big losses this season. When we win there isn't really a lot to discuss, 'moan' about.

This is a massive discussion because of the actions of some idiots at the game we could get hit with fines. No doubt it could affect Derby days in the future and other higher profile games.

I understand your frustration at it getting more views than the match thread like the Deegan thread the other week. But when we win other than saying how well we have done there isn't much to say. We are a nation of moaners and enjoy a moan.

Agree. I never take my son for games lie Col U, Millwa; etc because you know what to expect. X block is awful for families and the club really need to look at this as loads of late comers get stuck between W block and the away fans. Luton and Millwall the same.

South stand was fine mate. My little one loved it. Even started getting her pennies together to chuck at the Col U afyer the game.
