Wasn't the second punching incident (a few minutes later) the same person? If that is so, it doesn't put our stewarding in a very good light - he should have been kicked out the first time. Lets hope its his last visit for a few years.

interesting reading Col.U fans annoyed that a Southend fan threw punches at them although the same people threw punches at stewards and Bolger...POT KETTLE?

I didnt see the start of what happened, but fans from both sides let themselves down. Pathetic scenes.

I thought that the Col U fans were already fighting stewards before the Southend fan ran over? Doesnt matter who started what though, anyone involved was in the wrong.

It's a shockingly bad site available on most social networking avenues. They put videos and pictures of 'funny' and shocking events in sport. It's a load of rubbish I only spotted it because a fellow shrimper shared it!

The idiot who ran on to the pitch throwing punches at the Col Utd fans deserves a lifetime ban and a couple of months inside. As a dad with two young children this sort of incident will not encourage me from bringing my children to future games. There will be many other parents with the same view. We had over 10k in the crowd with loads of children in attendance what sort of example does this give! The stewarding was shambolic - surprised the police did not take over.

I thought the organisation of the stewards was awful. Not the stewards themselves. There seemed to be about 8-9 of them left to handle 50-100 charging Col U supporters. Why weren't there more to give them a hand ? There were stewards dotted all over the ground..but it was obvious which area was going to be the problem. Saying that, how did our supporters manage to get that far ? Also, where were the Police ? Do they not get involved if a club has it's own security ?

The funniest moment was when the Col U lad broke through all on his own, walked up and down the seats avoiding our security guards (like Pac Man), then decided to walk back to his mates again !

The police just stood back watching and took pictures even when Col U fans were attacking our stewards.

However, please have an ounce of respect please, we still have a Cambridge fan in a coma from an away visit to ours.

Why should we ignore an incident just because its negative?

We are not promoting the behaviour, but ignoring it and sticking your head in the sand isnt the answer.

Yeah the few stewards next to the Col U fans actually didn't do a bad job, even after taking punches from the Col U.
