Todays Game

That was probably the worst game ive seen this season with a period of bordem in the second half only broken up by the chants from the west to the East for Sumo to get his Tits out and the boy didn't dissapoint :D
Also thought the "i see Harold score a goal"chant very comical.

Match report now on longpier - enjoy

I'd agree with all of that. Would add that P Clarke had a good game - I know he can be scrappy & it worries me when he tries to bring the ball out but he was solid today & got in some timely tackles. I suppose we have to consider the opposition though.

As an aside. I took my 12 year old daughter along today - this was her 4th game this season and 7th in all. She's really getting into it & actually thinks it's a good atmosphere especially when she hears the odd "naughty" word.

Anyway, half way through the fist half & the Rochdale crowd meet a decision against them with cries of "w****r, w****r, w****r" - my daughter turns to me and says, "dad, why are they singing thank you, thank you, thank you?"

One for her mum to explain..............

Surely todays game would have been an ideal opportunity for Tilly to try Foran and Mac up front at some point well before the end of the game. Really don't think he has a clue as to the best two from the four anymore than any of us on here.

Foran is injured.

If Foran didn't have an injury it would have been an option.

Yesterday the OS said that Foran was having an injection in his ankle, which would suggest he was going to feature at some point today otherwise it's pointless... Fact the OS hasnt listed him as injured adds to it.

Hooper can be brilliant and dire in the space of a minute. I'm undecided about him. I hate strikers who would rather sit on ground moaning they didn't get the foul rather than get up and get the ball back.

I know he was fouled for the penalty but I don't believe he would have scored if he hadn't been fouled. I'd like to see Mac & Harrold start together next week.

I am sorry but today's pathetic performance against a not very good Div 2 team will not do.
Based on what we saw today neither Harrold or Hooper is good enough to play League football - the rein of King Kev is at an end and the standard of Scottish Football is pretty poor if Hammell was good enough to get an international cap.
Because of the current injuries and suspensions several of the above will get to play next week (oh joy!) but as soon as other players are available these four should be put on the bench or better still, playing for the reserves.
Our league position hides how poor we are (can't get a point off any other of the other top half teams) and we need to get rid of at least these four players in the January transfer window, free transfers for all,and get in some better quality players.
In next Saturday's programme I suggest that:
a) there is a statement from Mr Martin that money will be available in January to purchase new players and that he will back the manager in his transfer dealings.
b) an apology from Mr Tilson regarding today's performance and the promise that he will ship out some of today's failures in January and replace them with better quality players.
Rant over.:D

Can only echo the sentiments of most on here. The less said about the game (if you could call it that) the better, total toilet and an embarrasment to watch at times. But at least we are through...

Its always a very difficult task playing lower league opposition.

Maybe we sunk to their level a bit instead of playing the kind of footy that we can.

Oh and yes, our front two were quite bad it has to be said!

Can't understand this persistent battering that Matt Harrold takes. OK, he is not an out an out striker (more a forward), and his finishing is not the best, but he worked hard today, held the ball up very well and brought others into the game with simple yet intelligent balls.

What I also find difficult to understand is the love-in surrounding Hooper amongst a number of our fans. He tries silly flicks and tricks in even sillier areas of the pitch, which often results in the opposition countering. His body language is awful even when we are winning, and he really does not look good enough. What does Charlie Mac have to do to get a chance?

Tilly....make subs earlier...when will you learn? Yes, we got a result (which ultimately is all that ever counts in football) but we were quite frankly dire after the early goal and made a pub team look decidely better than they were. How you can't test the two fattest centre backs in the football league is beyond me.

Satisfied that we are through to round two, but worried that we never seem to get out of second gear in games and have absolutely no killer instinct. :(

Trying to keep it positive, we are a couple of bob better off as a club and in the hat for the second round. Job done, however unconvincing it was.

On Tilly's comments on the radio -Good Call Tilly, it's your job, your neck on the line and you are judged on results and we got the result. Crowds don't pick teams managers do, I've got absolutely no problem with that, as when the day comes and the results aren't there, it's the manager who carries the can and pays with his job.

Top post. Wasn't there today and therefore can't comment on the actual game but I agree wholeheartedly with Tilly on this one.

**** me we won didnt we, we didnt play well so what, results are all that matter we won and I happy with victories over performance any day, we have played much better than that and lost
