Pretty poor really......no atmosphere, no singing at all in the East where I was, West tried for the last 15 mins, but really quiet overall.

They looked like a pub team the two centre halfs..well one was as wide as tall and the other older than me i think...:minger:

thought hooper was very very poor, and Harrold predictable. Couldn't believe he missed the pen, i had 3 1 on the predictions :guns: ......still happens to the best.....

Once again Tilson leaves it far to late for a sub (84 mins). Hooper was pretty poor but no worse than Harrold. Hooper's confidence will probably be rock bottom - seemed like the crowd were cheering that he went off but we were actaully cheering that Tilson actually decided to make a sub.

They looked alot hungrier than we did but i was never really that worried about them equalizing. Lets try not to be too negative about this as the most important thing is we are in the hat for the next round!

Go on you blue boys!!

Seemed like we were just content with 2-1 in the second half, Tilly should have bought on Macca at least 20 minutes earlier and Francis aswell.

There was nothing wrong with Harrold's performance today, other than the missed penalty (the run is over, then....). He showed some good ability on the ball and linked up play well which is what he is in the team to do.

The atmosphere seemed pretty good considering the size of the crowd and the fact that the team was very much going through the motions.

Non event as a performance today....The only good thing to say is at least we won ......Hooper was awful ...my Niece has more control over a ball than him and she is 3...His first touch, if he had one is not even worthy of Sunday League football.

I agree that hooper was poor, very poor and to be honest i was cheering the fact that he was going off (first time for a long time). I thought that Harrold did better considering that after Rochdale equalised we just lumped the ball forward at every opportunity. It was just a shame he struck the penalty in exactly the same place as the first one !

I think that 'King' Kev is ready to be overthrown, it was his sloppy ball that lead to the Rochdale goal and there were numerous misplaced passes and flick from him, roll on Bailey getting back from his ban !

And as for the second half !!!!! We were outpossessed (i wont say outplayed) by a second rate pub team and they nearly got themselves a replay.

Still rant over, at least we are in the hat for the next round.

Tilly was questioned on BBC Essex about his late subs policy & that the crowd wanted Charlie Mac on earlier. His reponse was basically " we were 2-1 up & comfortable & it's me that makes the decisions not the crowd. We won & we're through to the next round.." - fair enough!

I thought Harrold was pretty good today, Hooper huffs & puffs & tries too many clever flicks and I have to say I thought Maher was pretty poor verging on woeful at times.

if that is what tilly said on the radio then maybe it is time for the crowd to question his position as manager

Sorry but Tilly's right. He picks the team and ultimately he is the one who carries the can if he gets it wrong. If it were the crowd that picked the team, we'd never make any decisions given the number of arguments we have on here.

I thought Maher was trying a bit too hard today. He knows he's got a real job on in keeping his place and really wanted to show off his range of passing but it wasn't happening for him.

good effort by the west stand and trueblue* in the east stand to try and get an atmosphere.. SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMOOOOOO

*didn't need to take his shirt off:(

I also listened to tilly comments on the way home in the car and it did anger me when he said that hooper has had a run 4 or 5 games more than charlie and they both have only scored one goal........hmmn when as charlie mac had a run in the side then? Sorry and all steve but why buy him if your not going to play him then? Our front two today where p**s poor today, infact I would go as far as to say they are the worst I have seen for several years. Oh yes, and the moose is definatly not a right sided midfeilder either!

The prospect of Harrold and Hooper upfront for the next couple of league games is quite frankly disturbing.

For the record I would Macca partnering Harrold.

Maybe that's right but the "pass" that led to their equaliser was inexusable. It's good that we have such a strong midfield & competition for places. I know he has the heart & desire so if it helps him raise his game then all the better for the team.
