Today I am ****ed off with ..........

Thanks for that, I've made it quite clear to him that if he does leave then it's work and he's not just dossing and going down the snooker hall as he does at the moment.

tell him he has two weeks before you start charging him a significant amount of rent!

What if he becomes the new Steve Davis tho!

In all seriousness I'd make it clear that loafing isn't an option. My old man threatened to kick me out of the house when I got kicked out of college at 16 (me, can you imagine ) unless I got a job.

If he would have gone through with it is a different matter, but it made me buck by ideas up.

I walked out of a college course when I was 17 and my parents made it clear that I had to get a job right away. In all reality I stagnated for a number of years after that in a dead end job but the fact was I was always working full time and always paid my own way. When the time came when I was motivated to do something about my life and career the life lessons learned from working were more invaluable to me than any college course or degree. The fact was though that nothing my parents ever said to me ever got me motivated to concentrate on a 'proper career', that motivation came when I was ready (which I'm sure it will with your son) - what they did provide was the definite rule that they wouldn't just keep me in their house without me contributing. As long as I worked and paid my own way, as long as it was legal of course, then that was OK.

Of course you'd rather he stuck at his college course. I'd certainly hope my kids stay in education as long as is right for them. However formal education past school isn't the right thing for everyone, sometimes (as cliched as it sounds) the University Of Life is the right one.

I am actually pretty hacked off with the fact my son has apparently decided to jack in his college course after Easter, because of a misdemeanour that occured on his placement and heavily influenced by the fact his mate has decided to pack it in too, and jumped before he was pushed. Anyone with any sensible advice for how to deal with this, I'd be grateful.

Arrange for a home visit from Army careers.

If that doesn't do the trick move house without telling him.

Thanks everyone - your thoughts have been.....useful! I guess cancelling his phone contract and cancelling the allowance I currently give him might force him to get out and find some work in the real world when the time comes. I know I paid a third of my wages to my mum from the moment I started working, think that might be rather a shock!

But cancelling his contract on his phone may hit you hard. Most networks charge a early termination fee, so be careful if you go ahead with it

Because the people who moan are the sad Facebook addicts who can't last more than 5 minutes without checking their profile.

Am I allowed to be f***ed off with the Facebook mobile site being a bit hit or miss in terms of access since their last "upgrade".

A mobile site that worked really well (especially if you wanted to catch up on your page whilst at work where FB is on the list of banned sites) has now been reduced to a gibbering wreck of it's former self. Nothappy.com!!!

Oh & I am still irate with the joke of Vodafone Customer Services (shock horror, based in Bombay) in terms of my Premium Rate SMS disputes. I sent them an online query the other day, having had a Premium Rate SMS bar put on my account, I was still receiving the occassional dodgy text and wanted to know why. Despite going into considerable depth over what I have done to eradicate these problems over the past few weeks/months I got the standard cr@ppy response about we can't do anything, blah, blah, blah. Contact the other company direct, or send STOP to the 5digit number the message came from. Tell me this Vodafone (or Mohammed Sheikh in particular, you w**ker) how am I supposed to send STOP when I've got a bar from sending that kind of message on my account! :madman:

People who act as if you are ruining their meal of a lifetime because you have taken your kids down the pub for lunch.

I don't take my kids to The Fat Duck or El Bulli because I accept it may upset some diners however anywhere that knocks out (amongst other dishes) scampi and chips is in my opinion fair game for a family luncheon unless specifically forbidden by the proprietor.

Bloody snotty counter staff at my friendly local Job Centre. Not only is one of the arrogant, pretentious and damn right rude, I always end up being seen by her.

To make my day worse, after taking my seat, I ended up with the obligatory 'stinker' coming to sit next to me.

I really need a job, still hopefully the sixth interview will be the lucky one.....

Kent fishermen from an internet site.

Around a month a ago, a local fisherman and boat owner died while fishing. apparently he had a massize heart attack and fell of his boat. On breaking the news to his sister, she also had a major heart attack and died.
So the fishing site which I belong to decided to have a fishing meet with all mone raised going either to his family to help pay towards the costs of the burial or a charity of theie choice. As Essex are mixed in with Kent, we usually get 60-70 people attend these meets. However as the meet is in Essex not one person from Kent is prepared to travel to Essex to fish it, instead they are having their own personal meet, which is nothing to do with the fund raising.

Vodafone - who are blocking my application for a remortgage over 30 quid they say I owe and I can prove I've paid. I paid it again 3 weeks ago by credit card as the remortgage is a big saver and I can take the double payment and shoddy treatment up afterwards. I found out yesterday they still haven't wiped the black mark off my previously unblemished credit record.

**** me. The merest glimpse of the sun and the flipflops are out in force in the city. Wholly inappropriate and a health hazard.

So not looking forward to the next five weeks in a room with 15 macs, no air con, and around 20 (30 or so on Fridays) sweaty humans in it at college...

Time to bring this back again.
How the f**k is diesel now cheaper than petrol?
There was almost 20p a litre difference last year.

101.9 petrol & 99.9 diesel in my local garage.
