Don't get me wrong,I like Timlin but must point out one thing here.By all accounts Timlin fully deserved his red card last night whereas v Coventry Deegan palpably did NOT -a less than pathetic referee would have awarded 1 yellow at most.

What Deegan did against Coventry was worthy of a red though; rugby tackle at neck high, booking all day long, followed by a sticking his leg out and tripping the player as he run past him (may have seemed harsh, but he was given a good taking to after the first booking, so I reckon he was given a clear warning).

Regardless Timlin was stupid and will now be spending more time on the bench, whereas Deegan might get his chance again soon

One to forget and move on. A rush of blood and so stupid, both bookings...........................Like Deegan he is a must have player in our squad.

No thanks!!:'(

Count me in the 'yes please' camp!

I love both Deegan and Timlin for the full of passion attitude, tough tackling when needed which of course can be liable to a slight mis-timing now and then, but I'd rather have these two committed players who sometimes find their way into the book than a midfield that it lilly livered and just dance around the ball with half heart tackles or simply shy away. Its a good job Peter Butler retired before the game went too soft!

I like Timlin, wholehearted character. used to be our most creative midfielder and thundered in some goals! Maybe lost his way a little? Only 6 goals in past 3 seasons from 88 appearances, ( roughly a goal every 14 games ) Dack for Gillingham already scored 13 this season. Mind you our 10 listed midfielders have only managed 15 in 188 appearances between them this season of which Payne and Leonard have contributed 7. I appreciate Brown was trying to bring in more goalscoring creativity from midfield but unfortunately injuries to Wordsworth ( when he was working up to looking decent ) Mc Laughlin and Weston, have robbed us of some of that along with Hursty, no goals in 13 appearances. Worrall off the boil as well .

Yes and a bit like Wordsworth,Brown brought in O'Toole last season for this purpose but he wasn't given a proper chance .

You lost me when you typed in Weston after using the words "goal scoring" .............

That sums it up well. I think last nights red was more about his frustration and anger at not being in the starting eleven again, and he carried that onto the field.

Yeah, I wasn't at all surprised at him getting red carded. He's quite impetuous at the best of time (which is why I get surprised when people suggest he should play defensive midfield), but doubly so when he's been out of the side for a while. It's a mix of not quite being up to the pace (both having been out of the team and coming off the bench) and the adrenalin.

I haven't seen the incident but my bet is that it's a red card he wouldn't have picked up if he'd been in the team for the last month. It's only his second or third red card in about 5 and a bit seasons with us and he gets booked something like every 4 or 5 matches so it's not really comparable to Deegan's second red card in less than two seasons and yellow cards two games out of three.

I think Deegan's disciplinary record might even be worse than Mohsni's, which takes some doing!

You didn't go to Wycombe then?

He only played twice for us and in the home game there were glimpses of his exceptional finishing ability for all to see.He has continued to score regularly from midfield this season.I did miss the Wycombe game but would always ignore opinions of someone who tried to find fault with Paul Smith's famous performance at Brentford.

Not even close. Deegan has been sent off twice in his football league career. Mick tells me had a couple of reds when playing in Ireland.

Bilel was lucky not to get arrested for assault on at least two occassions (the drop kick v Derby and the last game he played for Rangers)

If you discount their Irish and Scottish misdemeanors, I think their disciplinary records are quite similar. I know which one I enjoyed watching more.

I reckon Deegan's yellow card count per game (for us) is way higher than Bilel!!

Besides, Deegan has been taken off a lot of games after a booking to stop him getting a second yellow, so I wonder how many more reds he would have if he'd been kept on in those games!!!

What Deegan and Mohsni indisputably have in common is that both have got so many cards as a result of being picked on.
But completely different!
Deegan gets picked on by dimwits with the whistle whose preconceptions overwhelm any fair mindedness they are supposed to possess.
You probably cannot argue with most of the many cards that Mohsni got through his outrageous behaviour but he was picked on constantly from the very first minute of every match by opponents who knew he would soon react to all the provocation.
