Good solid signing, in a few glimpses he showed a lot of class. And obviously broke into the first team at Swindon! I rated him a lot!

I would have preferred to have used up any spare wages on signing a decent keeper but clearly Timlin for N'Diaye is an improvement to the squad.

I was very sorry to see him go last year as I felt he offered more than Easton, nice passer of the ball, left footed, can take a set piece and can provide cover at left back if required which is still a slightly suspect position. I also think he is a better player than Kalala and compliments the midfielders we have to a greater extent.

Certainly done well enough for them to want to get rid of him ?

If you check I think you'll find that the only league game Swindon have won this season was their first one and Timlin played in that game but he's been left out of their squad ever since.

Yep. He then had a falling out with Di Canio and hasn't had a look in since. Both he and Clarke will probably get another chance at Swindon once they get an actual manager in charge.

I wonder where this leaves Ryan Leonard, who I am liking the look of more and more on the right side of midfield. Assuming its Grant, Ferdinand, Timlin, Kalala in a first choice midfield 4.
Ryan Hall and JJ only really fit if we are playing 5 in the midfield (unless you play one or both as out and out strikers)
Ryan Leonard then only plays if Clohessey is injured/suspended, which I think is a shame on evidence of his displays so far.

I don't think we'd ever line up a mifield four of Grant, Ferdinand, Timlin, Kalala. There'd be no width at all.

I'd hazard a guess that our first XI would be a long the lines of

Corr Harris

Hall Timlin Ferdinand Grant

Prosser Phillips Barker Clohessy

Morris

Leonard will get his chance throughout the season.

Nice to see such a competition for places in midfield, keeps players on their toes. Using Beefy's team above would mean we would have players with the quality of Sawyer, Kalalalala and JJ on the bench. All game changers (potentially, on their day).
