Timlin over that palace waste of space anyday IMO any reeason why its only 6 months and not opted to go for the season long loan?

Gutted for Timlin. Signed a new contract here and Paolo Di Canio don't play him after the 3-0 win against Crewe. He will do well and looked good against Crewe. Good Luck Timms!

Timlin will seriously shake the midfield up, maybe Granty and young ferdinand wont take their places for granted so much now.

1. Completely unnecessary, we have cover at CM
2. Rubbish player

Disagree on both counts. With N'Diaye gone another central midfielder doesn't hurt. And on point two I actually think he's a very very useful player at this level. For one he can actually pass a ball well, something that can't really be levelled at any of our other CM's bar Sawyer and he's injured (OK maybe that's slightly harsh on Kane whose passing is OK but Timlin will hopefully make us slightly more creative through the middle when he plays which will help the forwards).

Add to this the fact he's a free-kick specialist. Cracking signing in my book and another player with good experience of playing in and getting out of this division.

Don't be gutted for Timlin, he's coming to a Club in the play offs and where the manager rates him.

God only knows what some of you so called fans want .Timlin was a good playmaker he places the ball along the turf He doesnt hoof it with the sortage of players due to injury .He will make a great squad player .

Totally agree. Thought he was excellent when he was with us last season. Also brings a bit of balance to the centre of midfield being left footed, plus a great set piece taker.

Just to clarify, perhaps rubbish was a bit harsh, but I always thought he went roaming and left big holes behind him, and although he can pick a pass, his first touch is poor and obviously he isn't great in the air.

However fingers crossed he does well for us.

Good signing, slightly surprising but will offer good competition in central midfield. Also offers something different, a deep-lying playmaker who can pass the ball well and clearly a lot better than N'Diaye

Well it gives us enough midfielders to be able to field a 4-3-3 so we only need one centre forward for the weekend, so yes it does.

Excellent news for those complaining about the hoof ball. Here's a player who can pass the ball. Probably the only one in the squad who can do so.

Makes us a much more balanced side with a midfield three of Grant, Ferdinand and Timlin.

He reminds me a lot of Maher. Hopefully he's a late bloomer like Maher - and given his experience we won't have to go through the growing pains we suffered with Maher.

If Sawyer and Kalala are both injured, then we wouldn't really have been able to play 4-3-3 either.

Yeah we could, Timlin, Ferdy and Grant in the first line of three, then the second line of three a combination of Sturrock/Mohsni up top then either Sturrock/Hall/Johnson as the wide attackers in the second line of three.

I for one am pleased with this signing. He can pass, he's intelligent and tidy, and quite good on the set pieces. Everyone (myself included) was bemoaning the number of DM's we'd been playing with, well other than Sawyer we didn't have any other option. With Timlin it means we have another option in the centre of the park that isn't a DM, and with his passing and set pieces, has a good element of the creativity we have been craving.

Only saw him play once and wasn't impressed, but then that was against Crewe IIRC and everyone was crap that day so hard to judge. Massive upgrade on N'Diaye, and if people want us to play on the deck more then they should be pretty pleased to see him come in, imho. Always good to have more depth.

For twitter folk, maybe the Blues players on twitter will get him to use this a bit more: @M_Timlin11
