Tilson Out!

Coach
...will probably be the posts on here from people i was sitting near today!!!

Just got bk from the game.  Not as good as I'd hope but it's only the first game of the season.

By the way  remind me never to sit in the East Greens again!  Each time I go all i hear are people moaning.  Within 10 mins I heard someone say "I am not impressed with the keeper yet" and then another idiot in front screaming and shouting as if we were going to be relegated.

I don't think these people realise it is 30degrees out there - what to they want the players to do - burn themselves out on day one???

On a brighter note - nice to see Prior giving instructions to the rest of the defence - I think we need someone with experience like him to help the youngsters improve.

Apart from that I can't say much else...roll on next match (just don't let it be that hot again!) - sat in row B directly in the sun for about 2hours.

First argument with fellow "fan" timed at 25 minutes. A fully paid up member of the "I pay my £16.50 and I can say what I like". w***er. Applauded everthing Cheltenham did, moaned the rest of the time. Look next time save your £16.50 and f**k off.

What were their goals like, Brambles sending off why?
Blues TV anygood?
To be honest - not much else to say about our performance - very sloppy at times and in my opinion Jupp was poor and Nicolou was beaten for pace for one of the goals - something I never thought I would see from him!

Their goals mainly came due to them be 200% sharper than us and seemed to come from nothing.

Didn't really see anything of BlueS TV - maybe next time.

Bramble's sending off was apparently for a 2 footed tackle. I did not see it as my view was blocked by a post. Views around me were divided. Some said it was a 2 footed lunge and deserved a straight red, others thought he got the ball.

Don't suppose you were in East Green block D were you?  Everyone was moaning!  I don't know why they bother going to the matches just to complain.  The trouble is, their moans are loader than our support so can't do much for the players!

The one that really made me laugh was the bloke in row C in Block D moaning about Bart after 10 mins - if you read this I have one word - PATHETIC.  Shut up complaining and GET BEHIND THE PLAYERS!

I was indeed. I tell you the worst thing about being a Blues fan is some of the fans. I wish they'd just f**k off. 40 years and it just get's worse and worse.

Two footed challenge without a doubt. I thought he got the ball though. Is a two footed a straight red?

Tes' tackle was rough but it wasn't a sending off offence, he must have said something bad to the ref because he walked off straight away. Thought Tes actually did quite well when he came on, shame he's suspended. Surprise surprise Maher mouths off to the ref afterwards and gets booked, the only notable thing he did all afternoon.

Very poor performance, their keeper didnt make one good save and we just kept hoofing it. There was no communication and we just didn't play as a team. The defence didn't play well together at all, i guess they haven't gelled yet. Jupp was appalling, and Griemink didn't exactly inspire confidence. Oh well, only the first game and it was very hot out there. Lee_sufc, most areas in the stadium are like that. The moment we let in a goal they're on the team's back.

Have you actually put one relevant point in there that makes sense to todays game.

1. Bramble didn't say anything, sent off serious foul play.

2. Maher booked for unsporting behaviour because he pushed him, nothing to do with saying anything.

3. The problem was we did NOT hoof it, every single goal kick was played out to the defence. Something by the looks of it was planned. God only knows why though.

4. Why didn't he inspire confidence? What the hell did he do wrong?! Brilliant save in the first half as well.

5. Jupp was appalling, but why single just him out?

Only point I agree with is the whole of that stadium is fickle, but unfortunately we need their money to survive!

So many moaners around the ground. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard them having a go at Nicolau. What is it going to achieve getting on the young man's back? We played poor today and their is no excuses, but it's the first game and as we know with Southend one week sh*te, next week World Class.

Positives from the match are few,the one being Spencer Prior a giant amongst men ,Michael Husbands looked fast but his eagerness to please resulted in his crosses being over shot.
The RBS Stand wasn't too bad for moans,I think 99 % relise the league isn't one after one game.

Cheltenham IMHO was a good solid team, well organised and executed a well worked plan,if we can learn from this result then the future is bright.
I thought Tes was a straight red for the two footed tackle, but then Im in the minority being a shrimper supporter, the ref did lose it towards the end of the game, and was mighterly relieved when the whistle blew as I thought Maher was going to be next

Roll on Tuesday

Prior was an absolute disgrace today.

The abuse he hurled at one of the ball boys was disgusting and not what i expected from one of the senior pros at the club.

No one in east red was impressed by it.

Well Said,

Especially on the two points, Cheltenham's organisation and tactics were spot on especially considering the weather. Failure makes success again learn from our mistakes is very important, but then again haven't we made enough of them through the seasons.

I think Edwards and Prior played too far up the park and Maher should be commanding as CAPTAIN!

Utter, utter b******s. Darryl wouldn't have got to either of the goals even if he'd been perched on Bart's shoulders. Apart from that I thought Bart was solid, and his kicking was very good. Try taking your tongue out of Darryl's arse once in a while and you might be able to see the game a bit better.

Totally agree with the moaners, no good while the players are playing as won't do them any good. Perhaps should just vent their anger like myself and many others as soon as you get back in the car/at home. Or maybe on here!!

Nicolau was truly awful and as much as I usually tell people to shut up around me when abusing the players, I could find no excuses for him after their 2nd goal. That will hopefully be the worst defending in a Southend shirt he ever does or he can **** off straight back to Arsenal as their boot cleaner! 4 of us who went and all agreed he was the liability.

That is not to excuse the rest of the team though. Jupp, Edwards, Nicolau, Gower, Hunt(first half only) Dudfield were all awful in my opinion. Gray didn't do much, but did try running for everything.

Missed a physical man up front in the form of Dreweeee! Can't wait to see him back!

Have to pick you up on that one Shrimpboy. Maher was booked for pushing a player in the melee following Tes' tackle. Bit harsh on Kev because the player he pushed fell over the player lying prone on the floor (one of the few comedy moments of the afternoon). Key was booked for that - only then did he spend a fair amount of time trying to explain to the ref what happened.

Well in the west, when the Fourth official called out how much stoppage time there was going to be, I went to stand at the back of the stand as i always do and some tw*t moaned at me for buying the shirt and leavin before the final whistle had gone! I was only going to stand at the back to avoid the crowds but then as ive got the shirt that means i have to stay in my seat until the final whistle blows doesnt it
