Tilson - hope I am wrong

I've heard that Tilson could be off to Posh if (as expected) Ferguson heads up to Wigan.

What sort of compensation do you think we could expect considering their moneybags chairman!

Do hope I'm wrong.

I can see distance in that rumour unfortunately. Hopefully Tilly and RM will tell them to eff off

He wont be going anywhere.

a) Tilly doesn't want to leave.
b) Ron will not sanction it.

Wasn't it the Fat Judas who let Tilly go before he had really reached the end of his playing career? Not sure Tilly would want to work with him based on Fat Judas's opinion of him as a player.

No it was Whelan who released him. Fry did send him out on loan, though to be fair, he was (rightly) behind Ricky Otto for selection at the time.

It's looking increasingly likely that Roberto Martínez will be heading to Wigan. Celtic want him but aren't prepared to pay the £3m compensation that Swansea are demanding. Wigan on the other hand seem happy to cough up.

Funny enough my thoughts were Watford this morning, listening The Hornets manager is going to Reading ( Strange appointment that one in my eyes)

I love this time of year with the coming and goings

Brendan Rodgers used to be at Reading (assistant manager or somesuch) hence why he's off to the Madejski.

If Tilson went to Watford that would be another item on my very long list of "Reasons I don't like Watford FC"

Think both Watford and Posh could have legs but a) Dont see Ferguson leaving Posh with the set up they have and even if he does, I cannot see them risking not getting a 'name' in - Aidie Boothroyd, someone like that. They have a plan to get into the Prem and not going to stop now.

And b) Watford are the bigger danger to us losing Tilly, but there will be no end of applications for that job as they have potential to be a big club. Perhaps even John Barnes would dip his toes back in the management game for that one?

Think we are safe!

Martinez is a shoo-in for Wigan, think Fergie Jnr will be staying put. Watford on the other hand could come calling, but theyre a club with zero money.

Interesting thought. Barnes is of course a legend at Watford - going back there as a manager would mean risking his legacy somewhat.

Now I really fancy some Lucozade Sport. The power of advertising eh?

Ain't Johnny Bar-nes manager of Jamaica or doing some shizz over there?

Watford are going to slip into League 1 next season, they're due another stay in the bottom two tiers before they have another crack at the big time on money that isn't theirs.

Have I stumbled into a parallel universe where the Posh are a big club, or summat?! Do me a favour! If Tilson were to leave us, it would be to go to a bigger and better club than the Posh, notwithstanding their moneybags chairman.

Tilson would be much more on the radars of the likes of Charlton, Norwich, Southampton, Swansea, Reading or Watford than Peterborough, notwithstanding the latter's promotion last year.

Matt

In the unlikely event that Tilson was to end up at Watford, then at least it would put to bed the debate over Robinson ;)

Exactly. Posh are johnny come lately mugs who would be nothing without Ferguson and that complete embarrassment of a chairman. And where the f*** is Peterborough anyway? It must be in the most boring location in the British Isles- a bit south, a bit midlands, a bit east. Hmmm. It's like the f***ing island in Lost, you cannot pinpoint the f***er on a map for love nor money. I reckon Barry Fry is moving the town on its axis in a fat John Locke style.

Cheers for that.

There are quite a lot of vacancies and managerial round-abouts at the moment in the the top three divisions, will be interesting to see if Tilly is linked to any of them. I'm surprised he doesn't get linked to jobs more often after the job he's done with us. Martinez and Ferguson have had two good seasons, Tilson has sustained it over 5 years. I guess they're just 'bigger names'.

Other clubs can think of him as cr*p if they want, I don't care... It means we get too keep hold of him for longer!

In my view Tilly's lack of wanting to push himself in the media has helped us; I'll explain.
He is not and never is likely to be high profile, mouthy, courting the limelight, call it what you will.He quietly gets on with the brilliant work he has done, in his modest but determined way.Contrast that with the likes of Fry, or even John Gregory, or Martin Allen. All inferior in their management abilities in my view, but always on the look out for a media spot....Tiily can keep himself "on the lowdown" for evermore so far as I'm concerned, because we as a club benefit!
