Breaking News Tilly No Longer Hopeful - misses out on loan striker!

I dont think Sheff Weds(laws) will want to do business with us after the clarke fiasco.
So thats why i ruled that out?
can't really call it a fiasco, i think any manager would have agreed with Tilly (he also commented that many had whispered in his ear to steer clear from Clarke in the first place). Clarke falling out with Tilly seems to have motivated Clarke to get his head sorted, and he's doing well for Wednesday... I don't think Laws is complaining that we didn't take him.

I remember Laws being annoyed with Martin and not Tilly,
that the fee was agreed before his loan spell then went back on the deal.
Tilly has since stated his interest in the player this pre season,
I think it was Martin decision not Tillys.
I think the boat on this 1 has been well and truly missed.
wheather a good or bad thing.

James Hayter or Darren Byfield it will be 1 of these two i have been informed by our local friendly paper paper paper, is that an echo i hear!!!!!

I'd have mixed feelings if it was Hayter. Remember, it was him who caused Sodje's serious injury at Bournemouth, which at the time looked somewhat 'iffy' to say the least.

I agree, however certainly proven at this level, and if he scores the winner at Wembley againts Leeds etc in the play off final for us like he did for Donny.
All would proberly be forgiven.

gary mcsheffrey? maybe Jamie Cureton?

Gary McSheffrey is classed as a midfielder on their site. His a left winger who can go up front, a Tilson type of player but massively out of our league.

Wouldn't mind Byfield, was hoping we'd sign him in the summer. Also, Hayter was a very good player at Bournemouth seems to have gone off the boil in recent seasons. Am I right in saying his been re-moulded, ala Alan Smith and Dwight Yorke, as a central midfielder?

Some of the names mentioned would never come here, McSheffery, Freddy, Kuqi would never come here but I'm hoping to be proved wrong

Hasn't Derby's Dickson just gone on loan? My original guess was Hayter, but maybe Sodje or Jason Price.

Is Carlos Costly a real player?

No Dickinson from Derby hasn't. Was originally going on transfer deadline day but missed the shut off. Was meant to join Leeds when the loan window re-opened but Leeds delayed it until he would be able to play in the play-off final if required. Once that time had passed he picked up a minor injury that has delayed it.

I'd love Eastwood to come back. I can't wait until the loanee is revealed.

I never said they would come here but I drew up a list of all of the Championship strikers who have squad numbers at their clubs.

I thought it was the other way round. Didn't Hayter start out as a midfielder early in his career, and only moved up front in the last 3 or 4 seasons?

No, was definately a forward when he was at Bournemouth. I remember him scoring a 140 second hat-trick for them after coming on as a sub.

BW, when he first broke through at Bournemouth in 96 or 97 I thought it was in midfield, but he moved up front later on, and as you, scoring that hatrick about 4 or 5 years ago.

Yeah I know I am talking about rumours I have heard around the place.

If we do sign someone to be in the squad for Millwall it will have to be by 4:45pm tomorrow, all loan signings that want to be in the squad for a game that day have to be signed 3 hours before kick off.

To be honest, you maybe right about when he first broke through, but I always remember him as a forward for Bournemouth and I think his been deployed in midfield towards the end of his Bournemouth spell and possibly at Doncaster.
