Three clubs interested in Adam Thompson

I am in the group that doesn't really rate him. By far our best central defensive partnerships have been Sokolik and Egan in 2013/14 and Barratt and Bolger last season. Those two pairings always looked far more solid and comfortable than the Thompson and Prosser combination.

Is that group Fairport Convention?

Judging by his tweet, he can't be far off agreeing a new deal...

Sounds good. I was quite impressed with Thompson during the away game at Northampton. I don't normally watch from behind the goal but on this occasion I saw quite how physical Thompson was with the opposing players both on and off the ball.

Personally I'm still hoping Brown will try and bring Sokolik back. He was very interested in doing so but its all gone quiet. Thompson needs a lot of work for L1 IMHO, positionally he's poor. He has improved though so if he stays then hopefully he'll continue to progress.

No, Sokolik can enjoy league Two; had his chance to join us but chose Yeovil, so good riddance to him

He chose Yeovil when they were in L1 (and a Championship club the previous season). You can't blame him for that. I'm only interested in whether he is an upgrade on what we have and for me Sokolik would be that. Would love him back.

I'm with you. I know there were other factors but to think that Barrett left the club to go elsewhere when we were relegated/in deep trouble and yet he was welcomed back.

If he (Sokky) would like to join the club then that is all well for me.

Awesome, it's a big yes from me as well:smiles:

I'm on the fence with Thompson. Yes he improved but he has never filled me with any real confidence, his position as stated above has always been very suspect. I question whether he's good enough for L1 but then again the lad's only young and reminds me of Prosser in that he made a slow start with us but has got better. I never had any confidence in Prosser for those first couple of seasons but now I have no worries when I see him pull on a Blues shirt. Hopefully Thompson will stay and continue to progress in the same way. If he goes then he's certainly replaceable.
agree 100%

I would welcome any player back at SUFC if he is an improvement on what we have at present , no matter his past ,if said player wants to play for SUFC ,i believe he should be given a second chance. Some people here seem to be holier than thou when it comes to giving someone another chance ,because said person turned us down before .
