Three clubs interested in Adam Thompson

If want to keep hold of Thompson for back up or incase AB or Bolger start struggling in league one, let's not forget Bolger was sketchy at best before AB was placed next to him. Lose Thompson and our cb's don't have much cover.

I reckon its Mansfield & Pompey from League Two. Both are making decent signings. Two keepers joined Mansfield today (Scott Shearer & Brian Jensen). Pompey have signed McGurk from Burton & Adam Barton who was released by Coventry.

The League One team, I think, is Gillingham.
Good signing for them, got a feeling Pompey will storm L2 next season.

He was in tears at the end of the play off final - shows he has SUFC in his heart, so I'm sure he wants to stay. Can't see him going anywhere to be honest.

Lot's of potential, definite keep for at least another season.

I agree.

Sometimes we fans think that good players are just "born that way" and forget that on top of talent there are years of learning, training and experience.

The key for next season, if we keep all our current defenders, is to bring another experienced central defender to play his own role in defence and to help bring on our younger players.

Phil's maxim has been to build from the back. If both Thompson and Prosser departed and Bin Bag returned I would be more than a bit concerned.

I'd be really disappointed it Thompson left. Looked like a good centre back last year with a lot of potential, think he'll be playing top L1/championship football in the next year or two, hopefully with us.

Keep them all - agree B & B are the preferred starting 2 at present but the four central defenders of Barrett/Bolger/Prosser/Thompson would give a a solid pairing whichever we go with and back up if/when injuries/suspensions occur during the season.

Why do these people run these accounts, and why does anyone follow them !?

I've seen people from this forum discussing things with the likes of "agent" jim, do they really think he was a genuine agent !? This is the guy who told us Daggers were making offers for Eastwood even though his knee had gone, and Col U were after Leonard and Fagan was about to get a year long deal after we were talking about it on here :hilarious:

Also had Leonard linked with Burnley for £1m

I am in the group that doesn't really rate him. By far our best central defensive partnerships have been Sokolik and Egan in 2013/14 and Barratt and Bolger last season. Those two pairings always looked far more solid and comfortable than the Thompson and Prosser combination.

Prosser holds his own in the air but I don't think he's dominant in the air like Spencer Prior or Efe Sodje were. That's a high standard though.

Do you see white or Bolger as better? Do any of them get more distance or accuracy than Prosser (inc Barrett? Bolger wins headers but constantly puts us in trouble by not getting distance , Thomson is similar but wins fewer. I can see people finding fault with Prosser- but finding fault with his headers is just wrong---- IMO

Certainly not White. Don't think there's that much between Bolger and Prosser in the air. Prosser's currently better but Bolger will be better with experience.

Barrett is more aggressive in attacking it when a ball comes in, but doesn't have Prosser's height to deal with the bigger forwards. Aerially I'd probably take Barrett against a forward who was poor in the air but Prosser against a forward who was good in the air.
