This Saturdays Home Game

hi Crewe fan here, im quite pleased with the kick off time and day is as it is. I can travel up by train and watch the game and then the england game afterwards in a pub. if it was on a friday or sunday the train times are very poor so i wouldnt have been able to come. Ive been most england game sin the last 3 years but have given up now, costs to much and id prefer watch my club.

i cant see many of us making the long journey south though, we have sold just over 160 tickets so far so will only be around 250 of us there, which isnt to bad considering are very poor form and the distance and early start.

Where will the best place be to watch the england game?

my prediction 2-2 draw (lee barnard to score our 2 goals)

The designated away pub is the Golden Lion, which is also the nearest to the ground. The best place is probably there, especially since the England game will be almost at kickoff time by the time you get out of the ground!

i'd take Southend success over England success every time. I still think playing for England should be a privilege and players shouldn't get paid for playing for their country. It should be an honour and one you would want to do for free.

Depends what the success is I guess.

If I had a choice about Southend getting promoted to the Championship or England winning the world cup Id probably take the World Cup.

After all theres plenty of years we could get promoted, winning the World Cup would be a once in a lifetime thing.

However if it was promotion to the Premiership Id question it more. However if you look at Watford would a year in the premiership getting beaten every week be as memorable as watching us win the World Cup ? The huge fortune that it would bring would be the one thing that would make it worthwhile but from a football perspective would be a bit of a anti-climax.

You can sticky the England footie up yer jacksie. No interest whatsoever in supporting a system that throws all the money at the top trickling down a meagre ration to clubs like ours and others in a similar or worse position. 5% of what is thrown out to the Premiership would keep the bottom two divisions afloat comfortably.

The distribution of funds between the Premiership and Football League sides is not the responsibility of the FA. The FA have an overall responsibility for football at all levels. Whether they do a good job is highly debateable but to use fund distribution at the highest level as an excuse for not supporting your country is a tad feeble, in my opinion.
