I think it's just a case of picking and choosing which threads you read.  Perhaps we're missing the seamless wit of steveh90210.  Wonder how the old bugger's getting on without SZ...
Why doesn't Steve come on here any more?

He did... on the SZFC forum... because he passed his driving test on the 7th attempt!

I think his change in career put pay to his regular SZ visits though.

Steves got a new job which means he cant get on here all day every day. He has posted a few times on the SZFC forum. Incidently he passed his driving test at the 7th time of asking!

You'd have thought amonst my 4,300+ contributions at least one of them would have been intelligent. Sadly not.

I make no apology for this.

Apparently Steve passed his test at the 7th time of trying! Ohhh, thats already been mentioned. Twice.

Naps - this has actually nothing to do with me yet im including in the top line of your reply!!

I think this quote from a movie sums it up (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back!)

"The Internet's given everyone in America a voice, and everyone in America has chosen to use that voice to bitch about movies." or to apply it to our situation, everyone has used their voice to debate whether Bart should play over Darryl!

Forums are open to anyone to vent their spleen and inevitably not everyone has the same opinion on things, that's just a fact of life.

It's all very well people going off to other forums if they feel things have gone downhill at SZ but as more and more different characters and personalities register for the other forums then your back to square one again and you go off and look for another forum. And then the only way to get round that is then to create a private clique forum where all members are vetted before their membership is even accepted (such as the SZ yahoo group which was setup at a time when FM was driving everyone round the bend
tounge.gif
).

I merely passed a throwaway comment about a sign I saw at the ground when I was buying my ticket and now I seem to stand accused of declaring all out nuclear war on the Trust. I said in a previous post that I think the Trust do a great job with the Travel and I don't have a problem with Beaver, I put hidden agenda in the topic as I thought in light of the cartoons in the Trust Coaches at Oxford that the "Hidden Agenda" thing was now seen as a banter. Unfortunately no matter how many smiley faces you use, sarcasm doesn't always carry over well as words on a screen.

I know that Flying Scotsman has had much closer dealings with the Trust then I which has formed his opinion. but that is just his opinion at the end of the day, I for one don't feel it fair to be tarred with that brush by association.

As others have said there is nothing sinister behind Steve's lack of posts. He used to work in the City in a boring job that he did not care for, so his time was spent surfing, until he decided he needed to get his life sorted and went to work in the Prison Service. This has had 2 knock on effects, he does not come here that often and he hardly plays for SZFC.

Some people would be happy about that,
wink.gif
and I am sure if he was around at the moment he would have posted something amusing (of course humour is a very subjective thing) about all this.

Steve was one of the biggest fisherman on here. i.e posting something to spark debate. That is all it was but some people did not like that and complained about the anonymous posting.

He felt sometimes the board needed to be rattled a little, like a jam jar full of wasps, to liven it up.

It is a shame that things could not be resolved and have got to this state.

I honestly do believe things could have been resolved. As it was after all just a matter of opinions.

I can't understand how people can get so emotionaly caught up on a message board!

Same here, Scott. I've seen this all unfold and to be fair its all about people's opinions. Nothing to contraversial has been posted and IMO Paul and Terry have over-reacted and even made personal comments towards the site which is well out of line. Im staying out this one!

biggrin.gif

I understand that a lot of posters have left which is a shame. My colleague from thelittlegazette, Rob Craven no longer posts on here due to criticism that was aimed at TLG. I find it a shame that Beaver, Terry and Craven feel the need not to post anymore because of a few mindless (probably) youngsters that decide to have a pop.
As has been previously mentioned it is very hard to gauge a reaction of emotions with a few smileys and it is often hard to pick up the tone of a post.
I hope as a few of the newcomers find this out and are a little more reserved with their posts we can attract those lost back to the Zone. Despite this, the last few days have just been the trigger factor in these people leaving and the problem is probably been built up over a good few weeks.
However, win on Saturday and everyone will be happy and this subject can slowly be forgotten about. On that note I look forward to see all those connected with the Trust at Roots Hall bright and early (I will be there on ticket ripping duty) before seeing another great operation in getting a number of people off to the Millennium Stadium.

If people want to leave (like its a really big thing because its in cyber space!) let them go and cry the blues because sombody behind a computer (how scary america will launch a war on message boards next!) has (or how ever you read into the silly situation that has arose) had a pop at the trust!
as I said in my earlier post why get so emotionaly envolved its a message board! chill!

I've got to admit this has been hilarious, talk about a storm in a teacup.

The best season we've had in 14 odd years and sizeable chunk of the board's posters are verbally battering lumps out of each other not to mention chucking their toys out of the pram.

If I was an Orient or Col Ewe fan I'd be pishing myself laughing.

BTW if any of you don't like my post and think it's disrespectful then tough. I've put my fingers in my ears and I'm not listening lalalalalalala

eek, its a shame because at the end of the day the supporters trust repersent the fans, and seeing as this is the most popular and well known message board, it is rightfull that there should be senior committee members on this board, if not only to guage the feeling of the fans. Its also a shame we lost another good poster.

I've obviously been oblivious to this.

Has it been the usual act of new posters sparking off arguments? Or are a few regulars the cause?

Have to say that you've taken more crap than most FM and you're still here.

I think that once the dust settles the others will be slowly creep back. I looked at the shrimpers online today and it was a bit holier than thou. I like the arguments, banter & $%&* take on this board. I don't want to be part of a trainspotter stylee forum where everyone has to agree or they're ostracised.

Personally I think it's happened cos we $%&*ed our season up in the final run in. Everyone's still choked and they're taking it out on each other.
