Sorry chaps, I've had enough of the backbiting on this message board especially against the Shrimpers Trust whose sole aim is preserving the future of our club. If only you knew what really was going on behind the scenes! To those who have an axe to grind ( and god knows why!) I say bow locks and goodnight.

To the rest of you whose opinion has mattered to me over the last five years or so, I say many thanks for the experience and will hopefully see you further down the line

If you come back and flame, who gives a monkey's as I won't see it.

i think the trust do a marvellous job anyway, even though they fail sometimes they have always come out and sorted it!

To be honest I havent noticed too much against the Trust either - just a couple of remarks about the notice pinned up re: the train situation coming back from the LDV.

I didn't think it was that bad - and the couple of remarks I saw were reasonable views.

It's a shame you feel hounded out Terry (if you do come back and look at this, as I suspect you will), thats not going to help though - this is a discussion forum and with the numbers that post on here you are always going to get opposing views. The best thing is to be here too so you have the opportunity to respond.

I honestly didn't see anything that derogatory about the trust - but if there was it would have been from the very small minority of kn0bheads that will always be around when you are involved in an organisation that directly affects thousands of people.

Well I made 2 posts on the subject (which had been laid to rest a while ago i thought). 1 to deny that I thought Beaver was going to bring the club to its knees which is frankly ludicrous, and the other to agree with Beaver that there is no need to go on about it any more so accusations that this is my fault is a load of bowlocks. If people are leaving this board because they don't like others point of view then quite frankly they need to grow up and stop acting so childish.

I only come on here very occasionally now, to see what's happening and quite frankly, nothing changes! comments like yours are the reason people get fed up on here and I suggest that it's you that needs to grow up! who's side are you on... We are all Shrimpers at heart, we support the same club and therefore should accept peoples differing views without prejudice. Sadly, this is not always the case and that's when things get out of hand!!!

Here's a thought: (to whoever it may concern)

If you have expressed a view, which it is your right to do, that's fine as long as you haven't been needlessly offensive. That's what these boards are for.

If what you've said has clearly irked someone else, how about piping down once your point has been made? I can't see any benefit in continuing in some vain attempt to stoke things up further to score points.

Your point was made - job done. Leave it at that.

This in one of the most basic rules of human interaction...

I tend to believe people are leaving this board as, over the past few months, there's been a gradual 'dumbing down'. Constructive and thought provoking posts are often swamped by mindless trivia or petty squabbling. It's not one person, more of a cumulative effect.

I'm sure some may be pleased with my long absences on here

, but the above is the reason why I now spend my internet time on Shrimpers Online or other club websites. It's a shame, though, that much more intelligent and decent people than myself, such as Terry, feels compelled to stay away now.

Nobody is making anybody stay away its through their own choice, you will always get people making stupid comments and say things you don't agree with if the people think the trust aint doing its job sod them they don't know the full picture, Terry the ones that count are the ones that know the truth not the single minded few!

The problem with messageboards, emails and the like is nothing is settled face to face. No-one sees that The General is 90% of the time taking the Michael, or that so is Smudger.

As a member on the Trust committee I'll do my utmost to keep promoting what they do.

If there has been a dumbing down it's because ironically it's because we've become more popular as a messageboard. We are processing 5-10 new registrations a week at the moment.

The board will improve and it will get better.

The other irony is that The Flying Scotsman is also a poster on the Shrimpers-online.

I've noticed that my posts have become more dumbed down recently and apologise. I used to write MtS style epics but now tend to come on here to respond than to provoke (thoughts, not arguments, necessarily mind).

I think it's just a case of picking and choosing which threads you read. Perhaps we're missing the seamless wit of steveh90210. Wonder how the old bugger's getting on without SZ...
