The Stewards at Stockport!!!!

The Watermill Wino

Coach Guru⭐🦐
What the FECK are they on? apart from a buzz of Hi Viz THUGGERY! (ALLEGEDLY)

Shrimpers being thrown out! Alleged heavy handed action???? against Shrimpers of all ages and sexes.
They really lost the plot.

Anyone who has any photos of these "alleged incidents?" on their phones; please consider sending them to the authorities as they should be named and shamed for how they treat the members of the public, football aside, it's just not on.

Following an article on Shrimpers-online earlier it seems the stewards at Stockport were over-the-top and extremely heavy handed, virtually bordering on assault, as per Wino's post.

To take this matter further anyone who encountered problem please let us know, either by post or if needed by PM to me and we can try to make sure correct action is taken against stewards who may have acted illegally.

never seen stewerding like it..throwing people out for absoulte no reason. heavy handed, with both sexes. Absoulte disgrace :madman:.

I was one of the people who saw this as it happened...these are not stewards...they acted like THUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back, these stewards acted like demented thugs. Not long into the game they started ejecting people for no reason, several people in the row behind me were taken out and missed the match. They were looking for trouble and a strong letter to our club and the stockport chairman is needed

Letters are being drafted now. A nice way to treat, and quoting Ron here, " the Best Football Fans in the Country" (Evening Echo)

I was sitting my son just in front of the people getting kicked out and it seemed a total disgrace. Saw about 6 people get chucked out.Didnt see nothing warranting this kind of behaviour from the stewards. I presume the stewards got a big kick-in from the Leeds following the previous game so were looking for payback. I think the matter should be taken a lot further by anyone involved

A friend phoned earlier and unfortunately several SZ members fell victim of this heavy handed action from the bouncers, sorry stewards. One of the victims was a female member, which is a disgrace in itself. But I will let those affected, give their account. I was told around a dozen were forcefully ejected for apparantly standing, swearing, using threatening behaviour and get this, playing the drum! A total disgrace and something needs to be done...

With the greatest possible respects, why do SZ have to get involved. Do people not have their own voice these days?

Letters from individuals will achieve very little. Action from supporters groups will A) Have the full backing of the club and B) have far more weight behind them and achieve more.

People can organise this themselves, i've just noticed a lot of this happening recently, with SZ being the "voice" of Southend United supporters, just concerned what type of voice it is..

*and no one reply with some smart arse comment like "the blue voice.."

The idea is we collect people's genuine concerns and pass them on. No-one is forced to oblige and you, J, should realise an army has more effect than several single people. If that isn't good enough then sorry.

Before I start, I want to make clear that I'm not siding with the stewards here. Iheard the noise, but didn't see anything. The noise was bad enough & totally OTT & unnecessary!

I had a chat to one steward before & after the game. Before the game he said that the 3500 Leeds fans had been the best fans they've had there & did not a single problem. After game he said & I quote, "What was that about? Were they (our fans) Stoned!!!! They seemed out of their heads!!"

I know a few of those there had been to the pub, but when is there a game where the crowd have not been there? NEVER! Its part of the day out! Its easy to pick on a few amongst a few hundred. That said, the language from BOTH side was poor.

First off I dont think any of out fans were stoned. Some were drunk or had had a few as you would expect of any football crowd. The stewards were a collection of dopey old men and fat skin heads.

The main culprit was a steward called Phil who was a the big bald skin head who was wearing the red/blue supervisors jacket.

I saw it all kicking off and ran to the back to witness rent a mob Phil man handling a young blues fan. I like a few others went straight over to him and started to get in his face in the same way he had to our younger fans. What then ensued was nothing more than hand bags but could have got quite nasty as a number of blues fans and stewards pushed and shoved each other.

In the end "Phil" was removed from the away end to quell the trouble but the damage was done and a number of younger fans and women had been removed for very little. Funny enough Phil didnt seem quite as hard when a few Blues fans or a similar size wanted a word.

Just to repeat, in case it didn't come ove clearly, I wasn't agreeing with the steward. I know few were not sober.

Guys, I was in the thick of it and can give a full account of what happened but I have been told that I will need photgraphic evidence before anything will get done. This is why Wino asked whether anybody had any. The stewards were heavy handed and were taken aback by how many of us travelled. They told me that they were expecting 150 and we had probably 500+ There were not enough seats and our fans would not sit down. They removed five fans, one by one for very monir things, like standing up and banging the drum. One was female and she was handled inappropriately. However, the trouble really escalated when a fan, over 40 went to the stewards and asked them to se if they could thrown him out. At that point, all who had gone were just youngsters (I dont mean that derogatively) they were all under 25 I would say. The steward started pushing at our fans and when he got pushed back, he went beserk I counted him hitting (not punching, but hard thrusting of the hand live a shove) at least ten shrimpers. He was fighting a losing battle though because we simply overwhelmed him with numbers. He was up against the wall saying I am sorry I am sorry. He had no ID (as is required) and none of the stewards had any numbers or identifiers on their jackets. At the ned he refused to give his name. There are a lot of people on here making opinions on what happened. However, if anything is to be done (which I doubt) please make sure that you were acyually there and actually witnessed it because badwagoning will only dilute the voracity of our case.

I don't disagree that I may have been using inappropriate words on a couple of occasions but I wasn't "stoned", whatever that insinuates, as you seem to say some were. But I'll stand by my assertion that their head steward was a **** & a bully who needed telling that (which I did to his face, unlike you). I know it makes no difference to needle-dicked Hitlers like him but who cares, I felt better & like many people certain things are affecting me in our economy so you need to let your frustrations out occasionally. Unless, like you, you're a holier than tho saint.

But I thought you've known me long enough that if you've got a problem you can say something to my face rather than make snide comments on here. So you may be disgusted with me but that doesn't come close to my disappointment with you! I'll happily apologise to anyone I offended, apart from you as you've given up that right in my eyes, & most who know me will realise that though I swear too much sometimes (don't many of us) I mean no offence. You obviously don't care about offending people which says more about you than me! We won't need to talk again.

Ahh but did he tell you that Leeds were allowed to stand up all game?? no because Leeds can do what they like!

Also how many grounds in the country do they let you in and walk you past all the home fans?

I was the first to be chucked out for 'insighting others to stand up' i.e singing stand up if you love Southend.

I missed about 85 mins of the game
