You are either very rude or very blind...hang on, your both.

To be honest, I could talk on here until I'm blue in the face, but I'll never get through to the the "Ron Martin Rose tinted gang", so it's hardly worthwhile.

I'll admit that I haven't provided many facts on here, mainly because the chairmans complete silence. But you guys dont seem to have any facts to dispute what I've said either so I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

My apologies for seeming rude. Not intended - and there was meant to be a quote in my post relating to the one you put about the Chairman making money with the club and not using the club for personal gain. I assumed (maybe rightly, maybe wrongly) that you lacked the life experience to know that no-one does very much for no gain at all, or, if you were old enough to actually have that experience then the naievity would apply and this would be where you be expecting RM to fund everything for our benfit rather than his.

But if I understand you correctly, by your own admission above, you haven't got many facts to form your opinion on but you've formed one anyway. Do you think that is a very fair and just view to take? If I ever find myself in the dock I pray you aren't on the jury.

Whereas we (being apparently the "RM is God" club) haven't necessarily formed that same opinion because we haven't got the said facts either and whilst we still have a club to support are content to be doing just that and not jumping on the conpiracy theory bandwagon but somehow that makes us not only wrong but also blind...

One thing that almost everyone does seem to be in agreement with is this; at the moment SUFC's aims and ambitions are pretty much only going to be achieved if Ron achieves his aims and ambitions, so the two are directly linked.

Why anyone actually wants to upset that equilibrium is beyond me.

That'll be the equilibrium of our own players not being paid on time, us (allegedly) still under a transfer embargo because we didn't pay a loanee from another club on time, us playing midfielders in defence and HMRC issuing us with a winding up order. Why indeed?

Why disrupt long term plans over short term issues.

Rome wasnt built in a day, nor will Fossetts Farm be....

  • People have been crying out for a center back-- we got one
  • People have been crying out for a big lad------- we got one
  • We want quality - the posters from Swindon on here rate him very highly
  • Wages- Swindon borrowed £2.45 to opay a tax bill in 2005 and re being threatened with a winding up order so I wouldn't be so sure that Swindon are paying his wages
  • What makes you so sure that we are doing NOTHING about trying to get more players in -

Would love to green you for that, but not allowed at the mo!

The way i see it so far under RM we have got promoted from the League Two Play-offs, been Champions of League One, got relegated back to League One, been beaten in the League One Play-offs, got to our first two ever National Cup-finals, beaten Man Utd, drawn with Chelsea, and given Spurs two good games.

Has got planning permission for FF, nearly got all the financial backing sorted for FF.

Been taken to court over a bill and paid it out of his own pocket apparently, with the net result of a Temporary FA transfer embargo, which it seems they have also made an exception on for us, which hopefully will be sorted in time for us to sign a couple of players before Saturday's game.

In reality, although it wasn't pleasant, what happened with HMRC was a non event we were effectivly found not guilty, and what punishment have we really had apart from the above?

But I am in agreement that the PR from the club to the fans, has been poor to say the least, and a fuller statement on the events is owed to the fans and minor shareholders.

I guess I'll agree to be naive if Ron does take the club forward, if you'll agree to be blind if he drags us through the mire? Cant say much fairer than that?

Absolutely.

The trouble is, we all want everything to be ok TODAY and no-one is actually giving too thought about the future.

In fairness, that's pretty much how many people in todays society view their entire lives so why should the football club be any different?

Let's be clear, there is only one group of fans complaining all the time.

So you will not post anything else derogatory from now on, unless it all goes T*ts up, am I right Superblue?

Maybe some of us see the bigger picture and see what Ron Martin is trying to achieve at this club.

We are building a massive new stadium in the middle of a the biggest recession in over a decade, it was always going to be difficult.

There are facts, we have a new stadium agreed for the first time ever and hopefully in a few years we will be in there and this will be seen just as a hurdle to clear on the way there....

Congrats, Jam Man.....You have just secured my new sig. :)

Freedom of speech, phil.... This is a forum and we are all entitled to our views.

You make it sound like SUFC is a well oiled machine, and that I'm being some grumpy old man complaining about the state of the club because our burgers have 50% less onions than last season.

I dont want to doubt our chairman, but he has lost a lot of trust from me. Why didn't he tell us that this was all part of the plan months ago? That way I could have at least be sure in these times that things behind the scenes were running according to plan. Not paying your tax bill in any business is a very big deal.

And thats a well rounded opinion with plenty of perspective, which sadly seems lacking at moment!

AS you say, been a hard few months, a disaster averted as ron Martin said it would be (although how confident he was we will never know, Id wager not very!) and hopefully hurdle cleared.

The club are not faultless though and the communication since the resolution has been non existent which doesnt help calm anyones nerves so all we can do now is have faith and hope that Ron Martin achieves his ambitions which will in turn achieve ours.

No we were very very guilty of not paying tax that everybody has to pay. Ron martin had been using money set aside for tax to get the new stadium off the ground and when it wasnt he had a 2.1 million pound shorfall. Well done Ron for paying our taxes. What a hero

I seem to remember that we (Ron) paid, and the case was dismissed.

Not guilty your honour.

Not saying the club/Ron/GK haven't got any faults, but the last few years have been a good time to be a supporter of this club.

And a bad time. Ron has been brilliantly inconsistant. Shades of Vic Jobson Tbh. No we were not found not guilty we just came up with the cash and thats not the same thing.

Yes but you are complaining about the same thing every time, and that makes you sound like a grumpy old man.

Freedom of speech is all well and good but in this case it will get you knowhere. and it smacks of people laying the foundations so they can say 'I told you so'.

So, it is allright to voice your opinions but, if you have nothing new to say, then it is just moaning for the sake of it.

As someone once said "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it However it also means I reserve the right to call you a moany old git." (I added that last bit)!

I think that's why We will be the last Country to come out of recession as we have turned into such a cynical, complaining, bunch of whingers....

Glass half empty anyone?

No, but I'll have a pint of bitter please?

So so true.

The great British bulldog spirit aint what it used to be eh?

100% agree with tommy, for people to believe in ron still after the situation he has got us in he quite laughable to be honest. they say football fans are fickle but it looks in this case some ron lovers are just plain thick to buy what he's selling. one day people will realise.
