The Pro Wrestling thread

Rumble was a huge bore. No surprises in the men's match and too many botches in the women's match. I have no interest in seeing Roman vs Cody again..
Agreed, but I am interested in Reigns vs Cody II. I feel quite invested in Cody. He's super over as a babyface and he feels like he's the right person to be the next face of the company. He's from wrestling royalty, he's a nice bloke, does all the charity stuff, always looks a million bucks and I think he's a great ambassador for the company. Cena territory as far as being a face of the company is concerned.

I didn’t watch it but caught up with the highlights and it looked flat. Brock being there was scheduled but they wisely scrapped that idea and I guess explains McAfee coming and going v.quick and avoiding Bron and Omos. The Rocks appearance just a one off!? Perhaps a non title / King of the table match coming up at SS once Roman loses at WM!?
I'll be so disappointed if they do Rock vs Roman at anything other than WM, but it means keeping the storyline hot for a year which was hard enough with Rock/Cena when one of them was part time, let alone with both Roman and Rock being part time. The story could be compelling if done right and if they brought in other members of the family to elevate it. If they did decide to do it at WM 41, SummerSlam seems Prime for the Roman/Cody rubber match with Rock as special guest ref.

Unfortunately I've a feeling they'll waste Rock/Roman in Saudi Arabia or at SummerSlam.

He’s always been Vinnie Mac’s bitch so it makes sense.
Will be interested to find out who knew about what was going on. I don't want to believe Steph and Triple H did, but I find it hard not to, especially now knowing how much of a weak non-event the board's investigation was when Steph came back as interim Chair last year.

Got a feeling TKO will do a biiiiiiig drain of the swamp and as much as I'd hate to see Triple H and Nick Khan go.... if they knew and enabled a cover up, then they'll have to.

There's so much to love and feel nostalgic for when it comes to "the old days" in wrestling, but the sort of behaviour we're hearing about in the Vince case is a very unwelcome carry-over from it. It needs to be put back in the past where it belongs.

They are getting a ton of blowback for pulling the trigger on Rock vs Roman for Mania. A Vince move. Cody is in danger of cooling off if they try and drag this out to Summerslam or beyond.

I don’t know if it’s me but I get the feeling WWE know exactly what they are doing! Time will tell I guess.

They know what they are doing mate, organically letting it develop. Cody ain’t going to cool off

Whoever Cody is up against for either title it's gonna be great when Damian Priest cashes in seconds later and wins anyway at WrestleMania

Having seen a few clips on Twitter from last nights show, the fact that the whole Rocky thing was mentioned several times including by Cole and Seth, I still think it isn’t as clear cut as Rock vs Roman. Maybe Rock is the ref? and then does the ultimate betrayal by screwing Cody and Roman retains at WM!? Let’s see how it pans out. Good to see Bron on the main roster, who apparently was the last person to beat Gunther! (I haven’t fact checked this!)

I read a great suggestion online where Rock steps aside to give Cody the shot at Reigns and then the entire bloodline (with Jey back in the fold) beat Cody down, Rock looks to be coming out to save him, but then allies with his family. It turns out HHH set it all up, and away we go with plenty of long-term storylines opening up.

Triple H being the secret puppet master behind Cody's modern "hard times" has been in the back of my mind ever since this backstage segment around the time Cody was feuding with Lesnar:

If they did it, it can all be relayed back to Cody's disrespect of Triple H when he went to AEW (sledgehammer and throne, anyone?).

I just don't think it would pack the same punch with Triple H unable to get in the ring.

Just watched this from Wrestling Bios. Good watch for me. A good few matches from the New Generations Era which is what I like to see.

I started looking at vintage t-shirts and it got me thinking about the first post in this thread where it says. 'Do you still watch that?'. One of my favourite, slightly more modern shirts was Cactus Jack's Wanted shirt.

What about any of you guys. Anything vintage or modern in your wardrobe?

I've got loads of modern ones. Haven't bought any in a few years, but went through a bit of a period 2016-2018 where I bought a load of WWE and NXT ones. Nakamura, Balor, Styles, Undisputed Era, etc.

A red and yellow Hulkamania t-shirt, an nWo t-shirt and the Austin "What?" t-shirt are about as vintage as I get.

State of night two's 6 man street fight. Worst match of the weekend by far.

Loved seeing Cody finally getting the title. The best story-telling since Kane / Undertaker & Hogan / Savage.

The Final Boss Rock's new theme song. Brilliant.
