Mr Bean is up for the job apparantly. aslong as his teddy can take a few training sessions.

And a strange decision at left-back last night as well. I thought he died about 120 years ago.

Perhaps England should've kept Sven, he was a good manager for England and is proving it again with Manchester City. We always qualified for tournaments under him even in tough groups then progressed in major tournaments until being knocked out by a strong team on the lottery of penalties or the winners (eg Brazil). Unfortunately for him, Sven didn't jump up and down a lot, shout and come out with pointless soundbites in the press, which seems to be what the modern day manager is judged upon, regardless of what happens on the pitch. The media have far too much influence on peoples' opinions in this country, just because they didn't like Sven many people conformed to the narrow minded views being expressed on the BBC, Sky and in newspapers. So, a good manager was ousted and replaced by an inferior one.

Keep on grasping those straws..... No way are Russia going to lose to Israel.

Maybe not but Israel are a decent side at home and if they can force a draw, qualification is back in our own hands again. Although Croatia are a very good outfit, there's no reason why we can't beat them at Wembley.

Like it's been said, they've got nothing to play for. Its all over for another 2 years I'm afraid: At least we don't have the pain of losing on penalties to Germany/Portugal/Moldova/Albania/San Marino.

Maybe not in the context of qualification but there's a big Russian population in Israel, which will add a bit of spice to the occasion. Israel will want to win, trust me.
