Which is a shame because Boy Wonder contributes a lot to this boardPeople will rightly be highly sceptical if and when he posts such things in the future.

It’s £15m shuttled between his many accounts, mainly just ordinary club running costs packaged up as a “debt” to ward off interest from potential buyers. The sum only exists because the ground and club are separate entities and that was Ron’s decision anyway because it works for the development. Stadium rent is pure bull**** when the same guy owns the club and the stadium.Ron has said that he want's his £15M back so if anybody want's to buy the club put the money up and make an offer. If Ron turns it down speak to the Echo and say something otherwise you can shout Martin out as much as you want but it won't effect anything.
It’s difficult to live within means when Roots Hall has been disinvested over many years in the belief a new stadium is on the horizon. We can’t make extra revenue because the facilities are in such a state. It’s probably too late now but it didn’t have to be that way. Jesus, we have a whole rotting indoor arena in pieces over at B&L. We even let some of it catch fire we are so negligent. It’s been there for over a decade! Worst thing is Ron is charging the club for renting this **** pit (and I love RH). Ron is a slumlordThe problem had always been our outgoings exceed our income. If we don’t have games we always in November and December, therefore there needs a “loan” to cover that period and hand in pocket for the rest of the season.
Until we live within our means we will struggle, the CEO and CFO are there to balance the books and the chairman provides extra funding. If the chairman can’t provide the funds then the CEO and CFO are responsible to working out how they can find it and that’s not not paying the tax man
Yes I am as much a loyal Southend fan as you are no doubt of your club.Blimey - I know you are a loyal fan but trying to twist this in some way to be (even in part) HMRC's fault is a big stretch. If you pay all your taxes on time you don't appear in court or get placed under an embargo- the vast majority of clubs avoid that entirely - of the few that do have troubles they tend to pay and learn to avoid a reoccurrence.
This is 100% down to Ron and his inability to manage the finances properly - bearing in mind SUFC attendances (and therefore income) is way higher than the vast majority of the NL (and most of League 2, some of League 1)
The amount being "low" isn't really relevant at the moment - especially given Ron's ongoing reliance on Lawyers will be eating up those sort of amount at an alarmingly regular rate
All very true. I thought the club had such agreement, and the senior management at the club believed all was in order. Hence, the surprise. Whether we get to the bottom of it is another matter. It doesn’t necessarily have to be paid in one lump sum. A Time to Pay agreement can be reached with HMRC where the bill will be paid in instalments.
Of course there’s a couple of issues with that. One - HMRC need to agree to it. And two - we will continue to rack up further VAT liabilities whilst paying off the £200k. Leaving us in the same position further down the line and creating what appears to now be a vicious never ending cycle of money owed to HMRC.
Dont the other directors have a say what goes on at Roots Hall .
This was December last year about the same time.

its like rain...So the only person in a better position now is.....Mark Molesley at Aldershot with no embargo and on an unbeaten run. A tad ironic.....
The chances of HMRC agreeing to a payment plan with a company that is a consistent late/non payer is pretty slim I would have assumed. All very true. He speaks highly of you.Ron you ****ing ****, enough is enough now. **** off u little mother ****er
The overdue tax bill that a Time To Pay schedule was agreed for, and this overdue tax bill, are different bills, no? So stands to reason that another TTP agreement is needed. All very true. You assume wrong. The chances of HMRC agreeing to a payment plan with a company that is a consistent late/non payer is pretty slim I would have assumed.
