Question The North Bank and your thoughts?

Great post and 100% agree. It has to be an al or nothing. I don’t know who is chief of the blue voice these days, is it still @TrueBlue ? It needs to be a coordinated effort. Get Dan in the block behind the goal and the rest of W block to join. But I accept all will want to do that but it’s the only way it will work. I enjoyed it in there yesterday but due to taking me elderly mum can’t move there permanently at the moment.
I think he's retired. He's a lot more sensible nowadays, Lol. I do miss him topless(Ooh Missus), big bellied, on those winter matches, leading the Blue Voice choir.

COSU shouldn't be charging fans money to relocate to different parts of the ground. By all means sell that ticket on which the fan has vacated his usual seat. If Southend want to have decent atmosphere at home games they need to make it affordable to the working class fan as such and stop charging fans who want to relocate to the different part of the ground ie the North bank to create an atmosphere. £400 season ticket, £24 per match plus charging fans money if they wish to relocate for non league football thats overpriced in my opinion and bit of **** take. This isn't Premier league lads where you can over price tickets and get away with it due to the demands for tickets to watch premier league. This is Southend who probably only have hardcore of 6/7k who turn up week in week out, be careful not to push those fans away.
Whilst I agree with the sentiments here, there is also the counter argument of the additional operational cost of opening up the North Bank for home fans. COSU are fans, but also business people who are trying to build the club back sustainably, so they wont be spending anything unncecessarily. Some fans desperately wanted the North back, and they have done their best to facilitate that mid-season when they could have decided to wait until 2025-26.

In the short term, we are not going to re-sell every ticket that fans vacate in the West, neither are we going to fill the North (unless we suddenly get into the play offs or something similar).

There will be additional staffing costs, electricity to run the lighting, the stewards, setting up the security etc. I am no expert here, but if some fans choose to move, the West stand still needs to be manned, so the costs will increase but revenue will not, unless COSU put a small additional charge in to cover the additional spend. I think that it is fair enough, because lets face it, no one is being forced to move!

I did suggest a few months ago that COSU might want to look at hiring out cushions for your backside or your back. Obviously it can't be done like the 60s and 70s where the cushions would be thrown on the pitch for all sorts of reasons. There would have to be a big enough deposit to stop fans throwing them. Yes, those wooden seats in the East are so uncomfortable. So a little cushion hut outside or inside the East. Maybe £15 deposit, and 3 or 4 pounds per cushion to hire each match. Is it worth doing, any thoughts?
Why not bring your own you can personalise it so if you don’t want to lose it don’t chuck it.

I understand where your coming from but the fan shouldn't be paying over the odds for tickets in the lower league. This is Southend who got small fanbase compared to premier league football club where those clubs know they can hike the prices and if the fan say **** that they just get replaced. We don't want to have disgruntled fanbase going forward where we find ourselves with only 4k at home games, I understand it's business but same time we are club who is heavily reliant on its fanbase to keep turning up with decent numbers to help the club survive year on year. There no big tv deal here so our only sources of revenue as such is the fans, the club needs to have bit more of understanding for the working class fan.

I think a lot of opening it now is about symbolism. The charging to move seats is a really poor move however. Hopefully someone in the FAB or Fan Engagement Committee or whatever will be able to feed it back to the club.

Hopefully it will be available for anyone next season and the atmosphere can be built from there.

Give those in the west/block w and v the option to transfer to the North....FOR FREE and reap the benefits.
There are 6 of us who would swap to the North...but not at a cost financially. As a family we have donated season ticket money through covid...sponsored players, renewed season tickets without question throughout the horror show of the last five/six years and now we would have to pay to swap a plastic seat with a crap view for another plastic seat with a crap view....

Could be a he/she/they.

Might be like that French fan who was the only away fan at his teams game in Paris the other day. Mind you he didn't travel the 800 mile round trip as he already lived in Paris.
Yes, could identify as a penguin for all I know.! Though I'm not sure they're allowed on coaches.

If you paid £400 for season ticket and decide to transfer to the North bank at charge of £8 per game with 20 plus home games still upcoming your potentially paying £550 plus. To me that fills like slap in the face to the working class man and very short sighted by COSU. Be fair to your loyal fanbase.

Is the charge per game then, not a one off?

If so that really is taking the absolute ****.
