What was his name? I couldn’t remember and when I looked in the clubs contacts I couldn’t see a name I remembered.
Ryan Murrant.

Don’t think Ron liked there being another RM at the club.

(Although actually having just looked he left Donny for Brentford a few weeks ago, but this kind of thing is certainly the style that he’s been involved in so he might have kicked it all off before going).

He left Donny years ago. He went to Scottish club after Donny. Made his way onto Brentford a couple of months ago

so why start this thread this early if you just gonna talk bs seriously :hilarious:

I'm with you on this. My world has been torn not having the new kit on show after all the talk on Shrimperzone. It completely ruined the last game of the season for everyone I think. Even the players refused to score in protest of it not being available.

I'm Chair of the Southend Supporters Liaison Group, I was told by Southend United that there was a possibility that the shirt would be worn yesterday. I reported this back, as you would expect me to. I was then told that due to external matters that would not now be happening, which was reported back as soon as that became the case.

So, no one, not even you, should have been of the misapprehension that the new kit would be worn yesterday.

I can tell you the shirt has been chosen (and has been seen by some, but they're keeping details very quiet), it is the same make as last year, and the away kit wont be orange ("its a bit of surprise" are the words I was told but that may just be something to get you all to salivate).

So on that basis you no longer need to post about why we didn't wear the shirt yesterday.

If only we’d once had the man behind it and one of the best in the business at our club. Oh wait...
great fantastic doncaster excellent shame no one at southend does same as decided to miss out on revenue and opportunity to make money yay well done southend

You could always buy a season ticket, that might help:smiles:.

Lord Football is many things, but he's certainly not an idiot. He didn't get the situation wrong, he reported what he had been told by the Club, and when he discovered it wasn't happening he told us that as well. Might be worth backing off on the 'idiot' stuff eh?

Are you actually a Southend fan or just buy the kits? If you know anything about our history then yellow has played a huge part over the years.

#212 has been the best of the bunch so far.
With Nike supplying so many clubs is there an actual limit as to how many teams can have identical shirts? I ask because there have been obvious duplication of same away shirts with other teams in recent years?

I can see it now.

Only an “idiot” would fail to see why a yellow away kit is somewhat in keeping with our history as far back as I can remember.

I personally always preferred Blue and White. I never liked any of the Yellow. Our true history is Blue and White. Vic Jobson brought in the Yellow on the home kits in 1985. He then introduced a new club badge in 1986 without any consultation with anyone. The Yellow and the badge was forced on us whether we liked it or not. He liked it and that was the end of it. So no thanks anything Yellow for me.

It was our sponsorship with Laing that introduced the colour yellow for the first time
