There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG in getting him to sign an extension in order for us to gain a fee, i can't believe anybody would knock the club for doing this .. and fair play to Mohsni if he was indeed party to it as any signing on fee he could've expected would've been slashed if the buying club have to pay a fee

I agree, I'm not Mohsni's biggest fan but I feel that he's getting a lot of hate for doing something that the club probably approved before we'd heard anything about it.

Can't see our team wanting Mohsni back here for the simple fact his heart isn't in it. I do think they respect his ability though.

I really hope he finds a club. Preferably not West Ham.

He had a choice about whether or not to sign a contract with an option.

The Club had the option to extend the contract for a further Year, this was a clause in the original contract he agreed too, therefore he is a contracted Player until 2013, as the club took that option.

Anyone know the financial (I presume there is one) arrangement that West Ham and Southend have made for him to go on trial at the Hammers?

I know. I'm pointing out that to say Bilel "had no choice" isn't entirely true.

He had no choice in the option being taken- you're right he had the choice with the original contract offer not to sign it but as no one knew who he was at the time he was unlikely to be offered another contract elsewhere.

The fact that a contract extension might prove good business for Southend United..does not hide the fact that it is a contract.
Now a work contract at a football club would suggest that the employee should turn up at the appropriate time.
Whatever the "it is all a smoke-screen" argument, there was almost no doubt that when Bilel Moshni initially "went missing" from pre-season (not that he turned up to go missing) - Southend United, Paul sturrock and almost everybody had no idea where he was.

Weddings, trials at Hammers etc etc...have all emerged after the no-show.

Another question. If all the smoke behind the screen was to pacify anger at Moshni moving on for a lucrative fee...do you not think a club willing to pay that fee might have been identified?

To date? A trial. It may go well, it may go wrong. Should Moshni not be offered a contract at Upton Park then until any other club actually comes up with "the readies" there will be an impass. Do you really believe any club would create the alleged charade ..just in case?

Naaah. If there was a certain bid/deal...then maybe the club hierachy would seek to pacify. But with no actual bidder? A theory without evidence.

My theory that BM has acted selfishly? Some actual evidence. He ain't been seen!

Is it me or has this all gone a bit mad.

At the end of the dat Bilel wants to move on. We have him under contract. Yes agreed he has been a bit of a tit but we dont really know the full story.

We nearly sacked him six months ago so for my mind if we walk away with some cash on the deal then we have done well. Full praise to Luggy for a) finding him and b) locking him into a deal.

We dont know the full story re Bilel and what really went on so I think its a bit hard to judge him. For me we has largely a good player who I really enjoyed watching. I am not sure in the long term he was really right for the club so I am delighted to see us get I hope some cash for a player for once.

Thanks Dave - there's always someone that comes in with some common sense and ruins a perfectly pointless discussion ......... I'll add some more fuel to the fire by saying that I would be quite happy to see him return if the money being offered is too low ............. oooh, suit you.

He can't come back now, surely. He clearly wants to leave, and our squad is developing nicely without him. I'm sure West Ham won't take him - that's a jump too far - so the best bet is to offload him elsewhere. Are Blackpool still interested?

Is he still at West Ham, isn't this one of the longest player trials in history, or is the web of intrigue growing again as to his whereabouts?

Without wishing to start the pro v anti Mohsni debate ( done to death by now ) , I assume if we don't sell him , then the fact that we took up the option of another year means that he will remain a Southend player and paid by Southend for one more season - is that correct ?

Can defo see west ham taking a put for say £250k and then loaning him straight out to the Championship for a season.
