The MK Dons game

When me Axe and Barris went, it was all very bizarre, Alistair Campbell in the crowd, Winkleman trying to gee the crowd up, and people applauding corners!

Check out the Indian restaurant near the ground - they serve beer and you can tuck into a nice Indian at the same time
I thought you were boycotting Franchise FC? Or does that only apply when Southend play there?

Right, here's my understanding.

Definitely allocated seating and I would expect it to be close to a sell out, if not a sell out, for away fans.

They are currently selling seats in the stand behind the goal.  This is an uncovered temporary stand and I would estimate this holds 1,500 or so.  When this is full, I think MK Dons will give an allocation in the adjoining (again temporary and uncovered) stand along the side.  I guess this is where the extra 700 allocation comes from, to take our total allocation to 2,200, and I would also guess that MK Dons will not be sending these tickets to us until the initial 1,500 are close to being sold.

Have a look at the picture on the officials site within the "MK Dons tickets go on general sale" article for the two stands I'm referring to.
Away end (West Stand) holds between 2,200 and 2,400.

Funny little stand in middle opposite main stand could be used as "overflow" if necessary.

One near the station is pretty good. Jaipur's (which looks like an Indian temple) is supposed to be fantastic but VERY expensive...

At 3.45 we were up to 800. They said wouldn't be all ticket for away fans as Franchise FC wouldn't turn anyone away who was willing to pay!

Isn't more important we support the lads for another 3 points?

Nope. It's far more important to let scumbags like Pete Winkleman know that football fans will not accept football franchising in the modern world. He killed off TWO clubs (Wimbledon FC and Milton Keynes City) to pursue his dream of getting his beloved project off the ground and when that's finished, he'll kill off a THIRD (MK Dons) who will no doubt be languishing in the Conference. Handing him money simply condones such actions ...

Just cause thats your opinion doesn't mean its correct. I'd rather support my boys and cheer them to 3 points, which is much more important to us. Who cares bout MK Dons? I don't, I care about Southend Utd.

I'm not saying that I'm correct. I'm stating my opinion.

Boycotting your team and your support, and missing a Southend match in the process. MK dons won't really miss your £15 or whatever it may be. But your depriving yourself of watching and supporting your team in protest.

My understanding is that there will be more Away supporters there then they will be away, and that was when we sold the first ticket the other week

Think the ticket office has been a bit overwhelmed today! When I joined the queue, I was 30th in line... and I finally got a ticket for friday and MK Donalds at 17:50 this evening! The girl who sold them to me though seemed to be quite enjoying it- must be a good overtime rate!

It's easy to boycott a match when you are over 1,000 miles away and have no intention of going to the match in the first place.

Having seen us demolish Col******r there will not be many people who are away regulars boycotting this match.

Living in Spain, I've been doing that for over two years! Ho! Hum!

A little bit of the topic, but wondered hows the best way to get there from southend by train. I reckon depending on friday nights result we will sell all the tickets for the away end and i can see more southend fans in the home end.

If thats your way out then why raise the whole boycott opinion in the first place? I'm fully aware of where you live, but for the sake of your statement, I was saying that why would we boycott the match and deprive our team of support? What if we all boycotted and they played in a stadium of just MK don fans? Can do what you like about MK dons before and after the match, but when it comes to the match, I put Southend before whatever issues you or I may have with MK dons and how they came into being.

Think you mean more away fans than home fans.

MK Dons crowd average this season is over 5,200 being placed where they are means increased away support. But I would imagine there will be at least 4,500 MK Dons 'fans' so we will have to go some to outnumber them.
