The reverse of how it was before when people like me were looked at like walking diseases for not wearing them and most people wore them just to fit in.

Personally I find it nice seeing people's faces again. In my experience it's predominantly elderly people still wearing masks and they're probably doing it to make themselves feel safer, even though we're always told masks are supposedly about protecting other people.

I think it's clear now that wearing a mask and sanitising your hands and trolley when you go to the supermarket is pretty futile. Cases have fallen considerably in the last few weeks, deaths are also down, so ditching the masks clearly hasn't made any difference.

I'm far more worried about the WHO pandemic 'accord' that is being discussed at the moment - although not in the mainstream media, of course.

That's probably because you were freely breaking the law more than anything else ;)

Where's the evidence that masks have made any significant difference during the pandemic? And even if they do slightly reduce the risk of spread, COVID is basically just a cold now. You don't have to isolate anymore, so there's little reason left to wear one. There's also more and more evidence coming out about the damage of lockdowns and masks on young children's development.

What are they saying?.

They have a summit this weekend where one of the items is an international 'accord', which basically would give the WHO - the same WHO that praised China's response to COVID - more power to intervene in countries in the event of another pandemic. You won't hear about it on BBC News though.

That's what they're supposed to do though. I don't see a problem with that at all.

There wouldn't be an issue if it was dealt with properly and proportionately.

However if commending China's solution of blocking people from leaving their houses for any reason and welding infected individuals into their houses is anything to go by, I don't want any of that.

Sue Grey report published, or maybe just part of it.
In a few years there will be " drop the donkey" style comedy shows and the material is unbelievable.

Things seem quiet coming from North Korea, ominously so.

And it appears holiday destination countries like Spain have cut the covid checks to dip sampling of tourist arrivals for covid jab proof.

Not just Spain,on a recent trip back to the UK, neither my wife or I were asked to provide proof of our covid jabs.

Some covid news, the royal who doesn't sweat and isn't a ***** has caught it.
Rumour has it he will be isolating for next 10 years.

Matters have eased off considerably in HK but we are nowhere near back to normal. Mandatory hotel quarantine down to 7 days and still many senseless, bizarre daily rules and pointless flight bans. Gone from one of the busiest airports in Asia and a flight hub to 2,000 arrivals per day.

Interestingly on an international TGV train trip at the weekend from Barna to Paris and back, We weren't asked to produce proof of our covid vaccinations at any point.

In Uk numbers (notified anyway) have gone up considerably BUT, and it is a good BUT, the number of deaths and hospital admissions doesn't appear to have risen to the same degree.

The covid jab centre at the Civiv centre is still busy with 4th jabs.

And I am understanding many of the 60+ age group will be offered boosters with seasonal flu jabs from September onwards.

When you consider testing must have fallen, the numbers are probably much higher than being reported, cases in community that is, not hospitals

Interesting the way things are going.Lets hope there isn't another big outbreak in the West for the Autumn/Winter.
USA no longer insist anyone going there has to have an antigen negative test within 24hrs of their flight ( this kicked in 3 days ago, my last one 6 weeks ago cost £43! ).
But you still have to show proof at Heathrow that you've had the 2 Covid jabs, they aren't interested if you've had a booster or not.
This will be reviewed in 3 months time, just after my next trip there!.
