Yeah good point
Sunderlanders have been known as Mackems for a century or more as a result of the fact that the factories were in Wearside, whilst the money was on Tyneside.[b said:Quote[/b] (Shrimper_JH @ June 17 2005,09:59)]And Sunderland were getting called the Mackems when they first moved to the SofL
Coventry Used to be the Bantams before the kit change[b said:Quote[/b] (W4 Shrimper @ June 17 2005,09:58)]Well I'd know those teams as follows:
Coventry - Sky Blues
Crystal Palace - Eagles
Chelsea - Pensioners
Spurs - Lilywhites
Leeds - erm, United?
Reading - Royals
Wrexham - Robins
Which are 'old' and which are 'new'?
I remember Sunderland having a vote for 'Black Cats', as their old name of the 'Rokerites' went out of date when they moved stadium.
You can add WBA to that list. In years gone by they were known as The Throstles but nowadays seem to be referred to as the Baggies.[b said:Quote[/b] (Firestorm @ June 17 2005,10:51)]Coventry Used to be the Bantams before the kit change[b said:Quote[/b] (W4 Shrimper @ June 17 2005,09:58)]Well I'd know those teams as follows:
