The Ashes Thread

Who will win The Ashes?

Oh dear, oh dear.

We wont even make tea and we'll be lucky to get 150 on the board.

Back to our old ways...

Disgraceful.

I was being highly ambitious predicting we'd get 130.

I can only apologise for my stupidity.

Australia 200-1 at close.

Going at 8 an over at the moment, great welcome for Onions, 6 and 4 off his first two balls!

Well, to spare us all the agony of events at Headingley, here's a fun wee contest that Cricinfo is running to pick your All-time England XI. So far, they've split the side into two openers, three middle-order batsmen and an all-rounder (giving us space for, presumably, a wickie, a spinner and three quicks...)

At the moment, my side is looking like this:

1. Hobbs
2. Vaughan (c)
3. Hammond
4. Pietersen
5. Cowdrey
6. Botham

Happy with that so far!

:)

Id have to go Hobbs, Sir Geoffrey, Hammond, Barrington (based purely on quite extraordinary statistics), KP, Beefy.

Looking forward to the shortlist for the remaining spots.
