Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

Should Maher go?

Even last 2 seasons we were not playing good football and the amount we were winning seemed very strange, however the style has remained the same except now we have been well and truely found out with complete reluctance to change. Thanks Kev but you are not the one we need!

You could argue the recruitment has been bang average because we haven’t signed players who fit Maher’s style? I think we’ve signed good players but are they necessarily the right fit?
Recruitment has been fine, Morton for instance is benched for the other two out of form sideways losers, it’s the crabs fault and he will NEVER EVER change…..I thought Tango was bad but this bloke takes the pi ss!

Can we get the owners to spend some of the money they’ve stripped out of the team by selling our best player, releasing our 2nd best player and a sell out for an FA Cup tie?

In return, we’ve signed a loan from Luton (probs paying next to nothing for).

Or, just come out and admit being sustainable is more important than successful for the next X amount of years and then we can decide if we wanna spend our cash to watch or not.

Leave Maher alone. Shouldn’t even be a question.

Whilst I agree with all the points you’ve made, you absolutely can question Maher on his tactics, his decision to drop certain players and refusal to try anything different other than just trying to walk the ball in to the back of the net.

Your as deluded as he is?

Has it? Frankly I think it’s been ok-ish in the past, but this season has been shambolic.

Moncur and Bonne won’t be here past their loan periods. Jeacock hasn’t improved us. The jury is out on Walker. KAF and Wind don’t really get a look in.

I'm 50/50 currently...... ultimately this squad undercooked and lacks overall quality to succeed. Maher in my opinion needs to learn to be tactically flexible. This constant 532 is boring and teams are finding us easy to read. COSU need to take bit of blame to, lack of investment so far is poor on you! 1 striker going into September is joke considering we are supposed to be 1 of the biggest clubs in this league along side oldham...... need to step up now and give manager backing not scrap heap signings. I wouldn't sack kev now but ultimately if results don't improve then I guess the inevitable going to happen.

Think there's a bigger issue here .This a a style of football which is being preached from the top down probably all fa coaches are told this is the way England will now play .I even think Stan sorted of mentioned it by saying even if someone moves on everybody knows a replacement slots in to that style . My problem for me being old school is it's boring , negative and stops flair. Why take 31 passes and 5 minutes to score when 3 good fast ones can do the same. I know all the technical stuff about moving the opposition around but backwards and sideways is boring to watch ,and if it was the golden way why are we so bad at it and near the bottom

I voted yes because at the start of the season I said "if we are not in or close to the play offs by Xmas something is very wrong" and obviously that's not going to happen.

Like many on here have said, with our boring negative tactics, no plan B and our points tally so far this season, if we were discussing anyone other than Kev it would be 100% out.

Painful as it may be we are going backwards not forward and sadly it's not good enough.

Do you mean Pepple?

Can someone add a poll please.

Enough is enough, this season has been unacceptable on every level. Cry me a river over Cardwell and Kensdale, we should not be playing as crap as we are with the squad we have.

The tactics are unchanging and negative, we are getting beat by part time teams, our home form is a joke, we have probably hit 2 shots from outside the box all season and the heat map for possession in our own half each game is hotter than the centre of the sun.

Time to go
Why don't you also start a Bridge Must Go poll whilst you're at it?!?

Personally I think KM is being let down on a couple of fronts.

Firstly, if we’re serious about promotion the investment from COSU needs to be increased. I wonder if that’s even a possibility as it stands, nevermind the idea that it goes against their mantra of sustainability. Success and sustainability won’t happen overnight and I’m not convinced they can even co-exist, but I wouldn’t want to go back to the old ways regardless.

Secondly, the so-called “big players”, aren’t performing. Moncur and Bonne aren’t the answer. Noor lacks the support that the Bridge/Wes combination gave him. With Kensdale gone, Taylor looks a bit more shaky. Collin has had a mare this season. Bridge, like Husin, is struggling to form any real partnership/balance with, well, anyone.

Make no mistake, Maher certainly needs to take his share of the blame for tactical decisions and team selections, but to suggest our woes are all his fault is far too simplistic.

Trying to be objective here.
Do we wait and see what January brings re signings, if any?
Or get someone new in now to weigh up the current squad and make appropriate changes?
Leaving it until March could be just too late.
Sustainable yes, but will be more difficult in NLS

So he gets all his players back that he used as an excuse and then does everything he can to get even worse...he just hasn't got it and yes when he had everyone blaming the rat he had a cover story

Yes.

His loyalty to some players makes for some bad team sheets too. Miley… Jeacock…

His substitutions are too late and usually poor.

And how he handles some young players makes me wonder why they would bother staying… Wood & Collin…

Genuine question and something today's commentators alluded to straight away, does Kev tell the players not to shoot? It feels like it's an instruction, to not give the ball away and wait for the 'right moment'. That is so hard to do at our level. They shot in the second half today, it took a deflection and hit the bar. We did the same against Charlton and got two deflected goals. We simply have to shoot more. Sounds simple I know, but I truly believe it's that simple at times.
