And there lies your problem! Maher is a Southend United legend so is afforded more time and in some people’s eyes can do no wrong. If this was Phil Brown, Mark Molesley, Sol Campbell, Kevin Bond it even Luggy at this point people would be calling for blood.

Love Kev, but love Southend United more. A change is required because we will not go up under Kevin Maher.

He was decent player but manager I don't particularly rate him due to his unwillingness to adapt and change formation which has made us predictable as an opponent, though I don't think he been backed by the owners enough when it comes to player recruitment.

I don't mind if we lose ( well i do) as long as we've had a go and had a game plan. I can't stand this style. No pace, no counter attack. Corners that don't go past the first player. Build up play that's so slow defenders have all the time in the world to organise. Poor distribution from the keepers. I hope he gets it sorted.

I think he was a player who played within himself most of the time - when he did play on the front foot he was superb.
His playing career reflects his tactics as a manager.

Still would keep KM, the new owners are still settling into owning a club and know he is still working with hands tied .

I'm 50/50 currently...... ultimately this squad undercooked and lacks overall quality to succeed. Maher in my opinion needs to learn to be tactically flexible. This constant 532 is boring and teams are finding us easy to read. COSU need to take bit of blame to, lack of investment so far is poor on you! 1 striker going into September is joke considering we are supposed to be 1 of the biggest clubs in this league along side oldham...... need to step up now and give manager backing not scrap heap signings. I wouldn't sack kev now but ultimately if results don't improve then I guess the inevitable going to happen.

Can’t be having a pop at COSU for lack of investment. I can promise you they’ve settled plenty, much of which has gone unreported as it’s behind the scenes. Transfer budget, loan options and wage bill are highly competitive. Kev and co have turned down certain opportunities with regard to bringing players in. We should not be where we are with this squad and what has been made available to them

Has it? Frankly I think it’s been ok-ish in the past, but this season has been shambolic.

Moncur and Bonne won’t be here past their loan periods. Jeacock hasn’t improved us. The jury is out on Walker. KAF and Wind don’t really get a look in.
