Perhaps people don't feel the need to vote, one way or another, as they may be prepared to accept the current status quo rather than rant. We shall never know.still only 667 votes out of an average attendance this season of over 6 K ? Blimey talk about the silent majority.
Headless chicken comes to mindFor anyone mystified why Waldron does not usually play, just watch back his 18 minutes today.
We'll wish him well and move him on in the summer.
Yeah he didn’t do much when he came on, he got I think 11 mins compared to his usual 3.For anyone mystified why Waldron does not usually play, just watch back his 18 minutes today.

He came on with 12 left to play, plus the 7 or 8 mins of stoppage time. So 20 mins. He didn't do anything to suggest he's worthy of starting.Yeah he didn’t do much when he came on, he got I think 11 mins compared to his usual 3.
Not sure his lack of game time can really be used as a means of criticising Kev especially after a win.
Says a lot, he should have been playing like his life depended on it.He came on with 12 left to play, plus the 7 or 8 mins of stoppage time. So 20 mins. He didn't do anything to suggest he's worthy of starting.
Oh yeah forgot the 7 mins of injury time. Agree he did nothing to help his cause. He ran about a bit and slipped over once.He came on with 12 left to play, plus the 7 or 8 mins of stoppage time. So 20 mins. He didn't do anything to suggest he's worthy of starting.
Excellent! So what you're basically saying is that - despite Ron and all the pain of extracting him from the club - Kev has overseen a year-on-year improvement in league position (noting the 10 point deduction last year when Kev was NL Manager of the Season, and that this year isn't finished yet). Ten games to go this season, and we are level on points with the team in 8th, our highest placing under Kev, so well on target to top that - and of course that would mean reaching the play-offs. Good times!
Again, just trying to understand this thinking. Why would Maher set up to draw games. I understand if we are 0-0 away at somewhere like Barnet with 10 minutes left. I don’t see a team that doesn’t play to win, I see a team that have wasted numerous chances and several games where defensive errors have cost us points. Can you give examples of games Maher hasn’t set us up to win. Even with 2 up top we’ve still had chances to win games. We've drawn 13 games this season. I don't think in any one of them we've taken risks and gone for the win - throwing an extra forward on - leaving ourselves short at the back - etc. We always prioritise securing a single point over going for 3.
There's only 1 promotion slot from this league - everything else is the lottery of the play offs. Until we start setting up to WIN games, we're not going to go up. And that's why, whilst I appreciate what he's done for the club, I don't think we'll ever get promoted with Maher in charge - he simply doesn't go after wins.
A few weeks ago when we'd scraped wins against Braintree etc there was much clamour on here saying a playoff charge was 'on'. I said at the time that we'd drop too many points between then and the end of the season and so it has proved. We're always going to be also-rans until we start committing to WINNING games.
Coventry scored a last minute winner at the weekend - their centre half got it after he'd been sent up front as an extra striker. Their manager had obviously decided that 1 point was no good to him, and he'd sooner try and get 3 points - even if that meant taking the risk that he'd end up with none.Again, just trying to understand this thinking. I think it's more a case of setting up not to lose with possesion based football which reduces risk of conceding but comes at a price. We saw yesterday what this squad's potential is, for the first half at least, when they played with the handbrake off. Sadly, the team changes that were instrumental in this performance were probably forced by illness and injury and might not have happened otherwise. It remains to be seen whether Maher reverts to type for the next fixture or if he has at last realised we will never be serious promotion contenders with his favoured style of play.Again, just trying to understand this thinking. There’s been quite a few games where we’ve “gone for it” .. Charlton, FGR, Solihull, Daggers away. I’m not sure he sets us up not to lose, I just think our strikers haven’t been prolific enough, we haven’t been creative enough in MF (Leon helps with this massively, as he has an eye for a ball slipped through the middle) and we’ve had too many defensive blunders. One could put forward the case that the players haven’t delivered and when they have (as they did yesterday) we’ve looked like a play off team. I think the counter argument is that with better quality players Maher gets more wins - yet to actually be proven, I agree.I think it's more a case of setting up not to lose with possesion based football which reduces risk of conceding but comes at a price. Hmm not sure I’d hold Lampard up as an example to follow (though he’s doing well at Cov so far).Coventry scored a last minute winner at the weekend - their centre half got it after he'd been sent up front as an extra striker. I can't think of a single game under Maher where we've thrown the kitchen sink at a game in an attempt to get 3 points. Hence we've drawn 13. If we'd gone for it in all 13, lost 3 due to gambling, but won 3 due to gambling, we'd have 6 points more and we'd be in the play offs.
Blimey, where did you find those Shoot league ladders for the National League!
