The draw's getting to the point of sporting certainty. If you can see any resolution in this game, you can probably make some decent money here.
Blimey, how did Hoggie get your Mrs interested!! For me Monty and Pieterson (for differing reasons!!) are the only players my missus recognises!
I think Hoggie deserves a home series before being discarded due to his unstinting service. Only 31 and until recently has not been plagued by injuries. Harmy is a waste of a place if he is only going to throw down 80mph tempters. Mahmood has the attributes but hasnt exactly been blowing away county batsmen. Still, Fletcher had a hunch on him, and not many of Fletchers hunches failed. Oh for those days.
Funnily enough it was for his batting ! The 4 he hit off Brett Lee towards the end of the Trent Bridge test  She took him to her heart and has been interested ever since.number11 said:Blimey, how did Hoggie get your Mrs interested!! Fair enough on Hoggy, but as with all the other bowlers, I think his peak was 2005 and it's been downhill ever since. Also, the one other factor in all this, is the loss of Troy Cooley. Why the ECB failed to give him more than a 1 year deal, I'll never know, but I would lay a lot of money that we would be in a far healthier position, if he was still coaching the bowlers.I think Hoggie deserves a home series before being discarded due to his unstinting service. We could easily lose this game. It only needs a couple of quick wickets in the morning, and some quick-fire NZ batting in the afternoon, for us to be staring down the barrell of being 350 behind with a day to go.sufcintheprem said:The draw's getting to the point of sporting certainty. 5/1 does look good value. imagine they get us out for about 40 more in an hr.. only siders to come with any skill with the bat, lead of 220ish.
yawn-o-rama! 199runs in a days play is staggeringly slow, even on a flat, slow and low wicket. a little bit of turn might be getting panesar moist but there is nothing there for any of the seamers. fingers crossed the groundsmen at the grounds for the next tests are watching this, cos it's dire!
I was more concerned that every time the camera panned onto the sidelines focusing on the England camp they were picking their nose.
Its slow, but I thought gripping.
I actually really enjoyed last night's play (not so much the first session) after the one-day series.
Patel and Vettori gave a master-class in off/left-arm spin, which England just about matched up to. We saw a different side to KP, reigning in his natural game and his urge to dominant the spinners, for the benefit of the team. Saving the follow-on was far from a certainty with Ambrose on debut and only the tail to follow so England still had something very much to play for.
This is how I read it. Not edge of the seat stuff of course but impressive, resilient batting in against world class bowling.
