From my position in the East stand, I got the impression that the initial noise came from behind the North Bank from people who may not have known what was happening. This could have been seen as coming from inside the North Bank by our fans and hence the response to 'keep quiet' or sentiments to that effect. This in turn led to a very disgraceful situation.

Do we need constant adulation for what is on the whole a bunch of silly little boys ? Smoke bomb, shouting during the minutes silence just about sums up some of the ***** that call themselves TBV.

In truth the WHOLE stadium was rocking today, noise coming from everywhere. The passion in the east stand was nothing short of superb from what I could see from the south.

Yeah I noticed that too, was really getting on my nerves. Constant homophobia the other week, racism this week from what is probably the same contingent at the back. I thought the EDL were supposed to be with their lot.

I can tell you now that a lot of people in Block W who sing their hearts out every game, left the game today with sore throats and absolutely knackered! Well done to you all today, wherever you was sitting. Great atmosphere for one of the biggest games of our season.

Onto Morecambe for another massive game - to everyone travelling, more of the same atmosphere wise please!

The fans that "started it" weren't in the ground, they were outside and therefore not technically participating/observing the silence. The Southend fan(s) who responded should have kept a lid on it.

there was also some idiot in south lower who decided to pipe up before all that happened....
