England's first game tonight against the Windies, we've been put in and Lumb has set off like a train but just out to Gayle as I type.

Reckon this will be a good match.

Crazy match. We did exceptionally well with the bat, setting a target that Id imagine would win 90% of the time(191 off 20 overs), and they are set a total that you would expect them to get 90% of the time (60 off 6). England players must have felt very odd at losing such a game without really having any reason for the defeat other than the DL method and perhaps Sidebottom.

Their target ended up as 60 off 6 overs, which is very gettable. However we had already bowled 2.2 overs and they had scored 30, (15 off Sidebottom's over), meaning they needed a fairly easy 30 off 22 balls, with all wickets left. Even if we had bowled those first two overs for a more reasonable, yet still expensive say 10 per over, their equation when they came out would have been 40 off 22, which would have been much harder.

Another issue was, with us having such a formidable total, we started off all out attack, two slips and catchers on basis we could have afforded to press for a wicket with runs to spare....maybe Collingwood needed to be a bit cuter with the weather always looking to turn suspect.

Either way, the fact that rain breaks and revised targets and commonly known to favour the batting side, and with run rates increasing all the time, it may be time to revise the DL equations. I agree entirely with it's premise, but I think it needs a bit of tweaking.

My understanding was that the DL method was going to be revised for T20, but I'm not sure if it's been completed yet.

49-4 after 9.4 overs :D

Time to pack your bags lads

England storm through to the super 8's thanks to that wonderful no result, and our superior run rate.

Another fine knock from Eoin Morgan with 45 off 37. Disappointing score card in total, with a poor one 6 from our 20 overs. The only batsmen to make double figures in our total of 120-8 was Morgan (45 off 37), Lumb (14 off 11), Kieswetter (13 off 17) and Wright (20 off 24).

This entire tournement is going to be a farce because of their wet season they are in. Whoevers idea it was to hold a 20/20 tournement in the wet season needs shooting.

It's a pity only one of those guys is actually English!
