I wonder if there will ever be another England squad which has four players making their living north of the border.

Not for a while, unless Lee Naylor (Celtic), Danny Cadamarteri (Dundee Utd), Andrew Driver (Hearts) and Stuart Nelson (Aberdeen) all undergo drastic improvement!

Indeed. Robson commented that what made that team such a good unit was that they were playing for the likes of Derby, QPR, Rangers, Forest, Villa, Wolves etc and therefore their ultimate as a footballer was turning out for England, and the world wide exposure that brings (see David Platt). These days Id guess 2/3rds of the starting are from the big 4 and with their Champions League campaigns playing for England might be seen as a step down for them......
