Ugh. This one is obviously being voted upon by people brought up on mid-90s Britpop (nowt wrong with that, I was) who don't actually know The Smith's music and are voting on nostalgia and (misguided) perception rather than the actual music. Travesty. :(

Its a toughie, because I grew up through the Brit-pop era, but these days I listen more to the Smiths than I do Oasis.

I would of thought any prerequisite of any true great band was that they had a bona fide guitar hero? ,the Smiths had Jonny but who did Oasis have?
Also the Smiths ploughed their own furrow during the 80's going against the grain and laid the seeds for the whole Manchester sound that Oasis where the Ar55 end of.
If there was any justice in the world then the Smiths should walk this vote so i appeal to all those who haven't voted to support the Smiths .
