I actually think Chelmsford had a whip round a few years ago. ‘Fans fund’ signing, to get them someone normally out of reach. May have been Shaun Jeffers, but my memory lets me down.

Think that was actually Rhys Murphy. His move to Chelmsford from Gills was part-funded by their Supporters' Club 12th Man Fund.

I see he's apparently off to a club higher up the pyramid but I can't say I've heard his name mentioned amongst our targets.
