Good shout.

Another target from Kettering could well be centre midfielder and captain Connor Kennedy. Tough tackling with an eye for goal. He's just turned 25.
Or Connor Johnson at centre half. Just turned 24, 6ft2 and commanding. Came through at Wolves which is a Category 1 Academy.

Either way, I know we have a good relationship with Kettering and wouldn't be surprised to see another player signed from them.

Another ex-Sheffield United youngster. 23 is a good age too.
I’m not sure how it works at non-league level but it may be another couple of months would be better as if he was 24 no compensation would be due. Now it may be that we speak to him and then tell Kettering we want to sign him but we’ll wait until he’s 24 in September or we’ll chuck them £5000 and play a friendly against them next year as well.

Or none of that may apply at that level.

Like Phil Brown I don’t know but I bet John Still does.

Connor Hall is another name I have been given from Chorley.

Dylan Crowe from Ipswich I believe his a RWB as well.

Connor Hall has been watched, I believe.

Not sure about Crowe. Not a name I've heard. He's a funny one. Has only played one first team fixture for Ipswich in a PJ Trophy loss to Crawley, and his only other mens experience was 3 appearances for Leiston in September/October two levels below us. However, has England U17 and U18 caps under his belt and was at one time being linked with moves to Manchester United, Arsenal, Benfica, Borussia Monchengladbach, RB Leipzig, Celtic and Brighton. Which means John Still probably knows all about him. Perhaps he just needs to get a new start and settle in somewhere else.

I don't believe compensation is due for players under the age of 24 where clubs operate academies/youth set-ups outside of the Elite Player Performance Plan under which PL/EFL (and NL sides dropping out of the EFL) operate.

I know there's a plethora of options going forward but I've been keen on Jamie Yila from Cray Wanderers. Superb attacking threat with over 15 G+A for a side who just stayed up from the league below. He's only 21/22 too.

A lot of names mentioned on this thread have been watched on numerous occasions by numerous members of our footballing department and scouting set up.

Some names on our list haven’t been picked up on yet either.

Tyler Denton ?
Inih Effiong ?
Liam O’Neil ?

What about Mark Noble as captain?

I know we are looking at youth and it's a great model but you also need role models.

Could be a massive asset and lives in Essex.

Wouldn't want the wages as such as he is a made man.
I don't even mind West Ham as much as other SUFC fans, but a big fat bold, underlined and italiced NO from me unfortunately.

Would rather not see WHU stalwarts in SUFC shirts, doesn't feel right at all.

Neither would I but there is no doubting his ability and we gave JW a great send off Saturday and he played for col u.

He may fancy a final challenge.

Just a thought and not an overly serious one tbf.

His first west ham game was against us ironically....... in my opinion would be great signing, not just on the pitch but off it to. Can I see Noble signing for us? No, I doubt he would be prepared to play in the National league. I'm sure he will have options to play for other prem clubs or championship clubs. MLS seem likely destination for him to.

I guess it depends on whether he wants to uproot his family etc.

He will undoubtedly get an offer from the hammers to be involved somewhere.

But a chance to take a local club up the football league may seem appealing.
