Apologies for the language but reading through the comments made me angry, take back the language if it offends anyone, just trying to get my point across

So your point is, I can swear like a trooper, wind up the away supporters and everybody should support TBV or go and do one?
IMO you are the typical stereotype that makes TBV look poor. I had 4 idiots sitting behind me at Wembley swearing their heads off as they wasn't in the TBV section. Perhaps you should apply to the Jeremy Kyle show, where I dare say all your friends have made appearances to put your point across to the nation.

What has happened to our fan base this season ? I never go away any more as the behaviour is embarassing, and I may yet 'go and do one' as suggested as we did not have supporters like this.

Do me a favour lad, you know nothing about me, so how can you sterotype me. I never swear at games, neither do I ever boo or moan, I'm just fed up of seeing people moaning on here about pathetic stuff that isn't even worth talking about. At the end of the day, we support the same team, tbv are there to create an atmosphere, not split up sections of the fans which is what frustrates me when I see people moan on here about it. Of course you'll get the odd problem people don't agree with, but we are no Millwall/ Leeds are we.

This just needs a bit of invigoration. A few wins from the boys in blue and everyone will be happy again. TBV have made a great effort.

Rather than spend 14 pages moaning about each other maybe we should start a thread to resolve this situation. It is clear that there is a divide between many who go in the north bank and those that dont. I sit in the East stand and have done for years, my son who is 8 also has a season ticket. I would quite happily take in the odd visit to the north bank with him, but not under the current circumstances. The North Bank should be the area focused on getting behind the team, the most vocal of areas and one that supports the players through thick or thin. The abuse/songs aimed at certain players including the likes of Soares, Gilbert, Smith, Dickinson and Straker should not happen, in no way can it achieve anything other than destroy a players confidence and affect their ability to play. Ive supported the Blues for 34 years and never have i known a fan base as split as this.

We have one aim as fans and that is to support our team, we all go to home and away games for the same purpose and that is to hopefully see our team win, thats all of us. Therefore rather than spend all this time moaning at each other and telling each other to do one if you dont like it, lets draw a line under it and move forward.

From next season the North Bank need to be the voice of Roots Hall, in a positive way, regardless of who is wearing the shirt, be positive and learn from the likes of the Accy Ultras or those from Palace. Focus on the pitch and the game, not the away fans. This also applies to the rest of the ground as well, but after all the effort to get into the North Bank you are the guys that need to generate the atmosphere that the rest feed off. I have to admit that i thought the atmosphere was better when TBV were in the West, so why has it gone wrong since they moved?

The older more mature fans in the North Bank also need to take the responsibility and encourage the right kind of atmosphere. I have said many times the work that Scott has put in over the past few years deserves a lot of creidt, he is a true fan in so many ways. But people do look up to him and follow his actions and therefore through him and the drum there is no reason why we cant move this forward in a positive way. Is it any conincidence that our home form has been so poor over the past few years when the atmosphere in the ground is poor also?

I urge us all to get behind the team next season, Roots Hall can be such a great staduim when a positive atmosphere is genereated, who will ever forget the Orient game a few months back? As a group of fans we must encourage and support the team and each other, if someone starts abusing a player, shout them down, drown them out, make them realise that thats not acceptable.

WE ARE ONE, WE ARE PROUD and above else WE ARE SOUTHEND UNITED.

Well said let our support speak volumes

Well said Shrimperjon..

The issue I have with TBV is the location.

Now in Roots Hall the natural place is the North Bank, and it is great to have supporters in all 4 stands now, even though that means we are spread thin with the attendances we have.

However my take on TBV is to create a positive atmosphere in the stadium that encourages the rest of the ground to join in and being next ot the away fans doesnt achieve that. Firstly it means all the "action" is taking place in one stand up one end of the ground, and secondly it means many of the people there are focusing on banter and interacting with opposition fans rather than trying to generate the atmosphere.

When we got to Fossetts TBV in my opinion should be based at the opposite end of the ground to away fans and the focus should 100% be focussed on generating noise and a positive atmosphere. People who are more interested in confronting away fans can sit close to the away section.

I agree, I also think having the drum in the middle of the fans instead of to the side in north bank would make a lot more noise as people tend to sing quieter the further away it gets. I think having it in the middle would definitely make more noise

Interesting point about the atmosphere being better when TBV was in the West. Apart from the lack of adventure ("we hate Orient..over & over & over) the actual noise was great against Orient in JPT. I was in the East and TBV did well against a North Bank full of O's!
The advantage of the West is that if say, 150 sing songs...every now and again another 500 West Siders join in a chant.

No they dont, they all moan about the drum and the language.

No they dont, they all moan about the drum and the language. [/QUOTE]exactly and the ecoustics in the west are not as good so will be quietter than the nb. Just to say i dont know where people are getting this bad behaviour thing from, there might be a bit of banter with away fans but nowhere near as much as people are saying, and that is simply all that happens in terms of behaviour. Infact the last time there was any trouble was bury and tb told everyone to stop or we will be kicked out, so we did and there has been nothing since.

I to have never seen any trouble in the north bank and I take my 8 year old son in there, and believe me, if there was any trouble I would be the first one out in protection of my son, but I have never seen any problems in there only light harted banter.
I sometimes stand in the north for the first half and sit in the west for the second and the difference in support is quite alarming, the north is positive and the west is so negative, it is really noticeable. Don't sit in the west anymore as my young lad does not like the moaning that comes from there.

So the abuse of players, especially straker from sections on the north bank you see as a positive?

Personally I think this thread is now becoming very tiresome.

Basically a chant which started out as support for one of the lesser lights in the team at the last game of the season gets taken over by others and continued for longer than intended because of that some in the ground decide that that is abuse and decide that this is all the fault of TBV, whatever that is. Suddenly this makes TBV the devil incarnate and the root of all evil perpetrated at Roots Hall, TBV should be wound up, and the North Bank should be closed. Honestly, I despair.
The fact that it's taken until the second half of the last game of a pretty dire home season for someone to find something negative enough to comment about coming out of the North shows a lot, obviously if the NB is such a hot bed of negative chanting it would have been commented on week after week all through the season, oh, it hasn't... Strange that.

I've got a relative who attends most matches and, for various reasons, has to sit in the West. At a family function a few weeks ago he commented on how negative some of the people in the West are and he really wishes they would show more support along the lines of what he hears coming from the North Bank! So do I come on here ranting about how negative the West is and it should be shut down and all anorak wearers with flat caps should be made to sit somewhere else? No, I accept that it's a football ground and there will be thousands of people in the ground with different opinions.

At the end of the day we're all Shrimpers, to those who don't like the way I support MY club, fine, but accept that perhaps I don't like the way YOU support MY club but that doesn't give me the right to ask for your bit of the ground to be closed anymore than it does anyone else.

By all means comment on what happened but let's try and be constructive.

It's a football ground and you will see and hear lots of things in football grounds all over the country at all different levels that might not be the best things in the world but, so long as they are lawful, that's just tough and that's how it is, football grounds are passionate places and the day they take passion out of the game and the supporters is the day they kill football.

So the abuse of players, especially straker from sections on the north bank you see as a positive?

Maybe i was abit slow there, but i thought we were cheering in support of Mr Straker, after the came he came over to the NB and clapped his hands into the air at us and inturn we all cheered him.
He did not seem upset or angry at us, not at all.
