Quite a few positives to take from tonight's game reasonably good all round performance.. The negatives are defending against set-pieces (hovever we won't have to defend against the likes of OPR every week) and the lack of punch up front.

Right ok, thought all in all, we played ok against what was a prem league squad last season. They won due to some poor marking and clinical finishing. The defence generally looked ok with clearly the starting back 5 likely to be the same on Saturday. Coker very impressive and more forward thinking than white. Surprised Bennett didn't get more time. Midfield looked decent, very impressed with Laird, Atkinson similar type of player to Hurst, solid, Leonard also looked decent and Straker surprisingly good. Upfront at times Corr and Eastwood seemed a bit isolated. Really liked Clifford, similar type player to Timlin and good on the ball. Cowan looked physical with a bit of pace, would give him a year, but more likely to be a squad player than starter. Would sign all three trialists as all appear to be good enough to challenge for places. However, we defo need to sign another striker for sure. So in the end a decent work out for both teams with more positives than negatives for us.

Let's all have a game of...

Game didn't sound to shabby . The side doesn't sound that it needs to much change . But maybe needs another striker either on loan or another Center back .

Brown: "We've had another good look at Conor Clifford and Don Cowan and if I was free to sign anyone I want I would bring them both

Conor Clifford was brill when he came on. Loads of bite in the tackle, happy to put his boot and body on the line and broke up play loads. I'd sign him.

What I noticed all round was a calmness on the ball, good movement and passing.

Eastwood was poop

**** that ain't good :( like how brown doesn't pussy foot his way round in interviews, tells it like it is. Sounds like he's got no hope of getting the 4-5 on he wanted.

I guess we are at our allowed limit then under the embargo and that's that. Bad news going into next week!

eastwood was so, so poor. Really concerned where we are gonna get any goals from.

Tonight has confirmed that anyone who says Eastwood is the answer for goals needs to get them tints off. Not the same player any more and was embarrassing to watch. QPR mate of mine said "whoever your number 7 is needs booting out the team". When I told him it was Eastwood, he was in shock.

I would love Eastwood to bang em in and do well, and I'm sure we all would, but we can't keep bringing up the past.

I would love to be proved on, but I doubt he'll be here come the start of 2014/15 season.

good to see you basing him off a pre-season game against a team two leagues above us.

I left the game feeling very positive .Not leaving with a cricked neck, seeing the old roots hall pitch looking like it's back.Seeing Steve Bruce at the bar.I reckon we have a chance with no embargos of getting a decent side with Phil Browns mates helping us out.

Thought we were pretty good tonight with the exception of marking at corners.

Coker was excellent, we may have ourselves a decent LB at last. White was solid at RB, but I do think we need another CB as backup to Prosser & Phillips.

Thought Straker looked a much more confident player at LM & Atkinson has some nice touches. Laird full of running as usual & Leonard steady. Freddy was quiet tonight & we definitely need another forward or too.

Liked the look of Clifford, very busy player & was great to see Timlin playing again, got a feeling he is going to be a big player for us this year.
