I watched Man Utd V Palace last night and thought I was watching K Maher in a Palace shirt. O'Keefe made tackles and played simple passes just like Kev used to. It doesnt look like he has had many opertunities at Palace but i think would definately fill the place of Timlin/Ferdinand/Grant if we were to lose any of them in January. Why did Tilson think he wasn't good enough for us if Freedman thinks he is good enough to start at Old Trafford?
To be fair, Tilly didn't play him, and Sturrock accepted his transfer request
Because he was too young and lightweight at the time with us.
We should thank Ronny for us losing O'Keefe
He was not released, he opted to leave as he wasn't getting paid, like the rest of the squad (apart from 1)
I was also under the impression he was released after Dougie caes sniffing
Burley brought him in when Dean Austin was the number 2 i think. Okeefe opted to leave along with christophe, laurent etc.
But again although Steve Tilson true legend looks at the players who have done well for themselves since leaving, the big loss Michael Kightly we did not give him the time or effort to show his true potential, Gary Hooper (although we made a small sum of money), Stuart Okeefe, Femi Oreguna (undisclosed to everton).
James Lawson although he is now playing for Maldon I believe could of been given more time
notice the usual sly digs at Tilson - the payer were not getting any money and Tilson still had them turning out every week -
and you would have to be really stupid not to see that one of Tilsons weaknesses was always trying to develop young talent when what was really required was a team of experienced lower league players (and family members) to get the ball forward early and win league 2 with a bunch of hired hands -
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn -
all kudos to Sturrock the pragmatist but I preferred the Essex dream .
as for Freedman he was RMs stooge - and a waste if good money hanging around for the chance to get the mangers job -
