You love lightning then... would you like it if you were close to being struck by lightning, killing you?
I was in a caravan at the time of the storm, and it sounded awful! The lightning was just about missing the caravan I was staying in.
It either passed Eastwood by or I slept through it which would be highly unusual. Damn, I love a great storm.

Well, that's good to know, and the news that a school round the corner to the site had caught fire didn't really comfort me.You are pretty safe in a caravan in a thunderstorm. If the 'van is hit by lightning the metal acts as a Faraday's Cage, and anyone inside is protected.

Have to make sure everything is shut though, or your screwed!
I dunno, if their are domestic electrics inside the caravan, there must be some form of earthing arrangement or it's a death trap.
It's not to do with it being earthed or not. As above, the metal shell conducts the current around the interior and it flows down to earth regardless. Having earthing might make it more likely to be struck in the first place, but you are still safe if inside. Aeroplanes are struck by lightning fairly often, same principle applies.
How come when the DeLorean was hit by lightning at the end of Back to the Future II, the lightning didn't travel around the aluminium shell but instead was channelled directly into the Flux Capacitor sending the Doc back to 1885?

Great I cant wait! Love watching lightening :-)

Um no - I'll pass thanks.
OK. Just thought I'd offer.
