It’ll take millions and a complete knock down of three sides, maybe even all four.Anything can be restored if the desire is there.

That’s because the vision from Ron has always been a new stadium. I say let him do what he’s always wanted and get it built. But ffs Ron bring someone in that can deal with the football side of things!Only because one person has decided to do the very very bare minimum, whilst he chased the big payout for himself.
Do you know that for sure? Have you a survey? If its that bad how is anyone allowed in? Not saying it wouldnt cost a mill or two, but thats cheaper then building a new stadium surely. It’ll take millions and a complete knock down of three sides, maybe even all four.
Tommy, Ron owns RH so if it was possible to block FF then what would we gain?
There are people interested in the club but they are waiting on FF. There is every chance they would want to buy the stadium and training ground etc. Rather than rent from Ron.
With the houses going up i don't see Ron bothering with Football beyond the first year.
Hoping that a sugar daddy pays of the RH debt and then develops it is never and I mean never going to happen. If people could be honest rather than self appointed, screaming keyboard witch hunters. (don't mean you)
Then we could all have a new owner who owns the stadium and a chance of decent league football. And crucially maintain our name....Southend United.
Its alright marching into Afghanistan but what do you hope to achieve?
Ron out even if it folds the club is not a smart move when the easies and best option is Ron out once FF is approved
Yeah I do know this, it’s not a patch up job, think most fans know this over the years as it’s been said and told for years, I takes a massive ask just to get the health and safety certificates done and updated for different parts of the ground, no way is there a chance of staying at roots hall I’m afraid.Do you know that for sure? Have you a survey? If its that bad how is anyone allowed in? Not saying it wouldnt cost a mill or two, but thats cheaper then building a new stadium surely.
Can this be viewed online somewhere? Or is it hearsay?Yeah I do know this, it’s not a patch up job, think most fans know this over the years as it’s been said and told for years, I takes a massive ask just to get the health and safety certificates done and updated for different parts of the ground, no way is there a chance of staying at roots hall I’m afraid.
From what I can see we only need a new East Stand .Do you know that for sure? Have you a survey? If its that bad how is anyone allowed in? Not saying it wouldnt cost a mill or two, but thats cheaper then building a new stadium surely.
It’s been said a lot recently over years as in the problems we have getting these certificates and keeping them up to date, same reason was behind that film they did last year that was done in the north bank and no other stands as the health and safety certificates weren’t up to date, I can remember about 3 years ago when I had my season card in the 3rd row in blue seats and we scored and celebrated a goal and to the left of us two rows up in the yellows the floor gave way and supporters had to be moved, it’s falling apart, I really don’t know how the east stand is still passed fit for use, it’s close to a death trapCan this be viewed online somewhere? Or is it hearsay?
Im not picking im genuinely interested

Basically yes.... Someone said earlier in the thread that it would cost one or 2 million to rebuild, they're way off the mark, it would cost that much (plus) just to remove the asbestos roofing safely from the ground. The wood in the east is the big problem then? And the Asbestos
If the Main Stand was a new small stand, with flats built where the offices and first part of the car park is, how many flats do you think you could get on that plot ?Come on guys. Seriously. Just look at roots hall and you can tell it’s well past it’s best and we’ll beyond saving. I’ll miss the stadium but if we wanna start moving forward we need to leave some things behind and that includes Roots Hall unfortunately.
Take a look at Bournemouth’s stadium. When I first went there, in the early seventies, it was pretty similar to RH, but without covered stands on all sides. They turned the pitch 90 degrees and chucked up some cheap stands, all in the middle of a council owned park.
It was past its best in 1981!Come on guys. Seriously. Just look at roots hall and you can tell it’s well past it’s best and we’ll beyond saving. I’ll miss the stadium but if we wanna start moving forward we need to leave some things behind and that includes Roots Hall unfortunately.
2 million to remove asbestos! do the asbestos guys pull up in a Lambo?Basically yes.... Someone said earlier in the thread that it would cost one or 2 million to rebuild, they're way off the mark, it would cost that much (plus) just to remove the asbestos roofing safely from the ground.
I know your right, but the deal on the table seems very poor to me.I would think and only an opinion that a lot of older supporters like myself hold a lot of nostalgia for Roots Hall and why wouldn’t we. It’s our home but if you want new blood ie planning for a new family you move as the old place isn’t good enough!
Newer generations are used to new and sparkly places to go. They don’t want to go to places that are falling down. They want all the mod cons. The new stadium has a real chance of expanding our younger fan base.
But I guess it’s what we all want?
