Spoty 2013

Gilles Simon, Murray's victim in the 4th round played 5 setter 2 days before and was by all accounts shattered. Feds (for it looks like him) is not the young buck he used to be. 3+ hrs of top quality tennis in that heat is draining. Murray's barely broke sweat so far.

Ex-pro are you? :winking:

I think it has some substance but man up! If the tour schedule was too much then players would be regularly dropping out of events...

Lol I wish! Non-Grand Slams are best of 3 and there's far less mental pressure. To win one of the 4 Slams is everything to a pro and i think you get more ranking points at a Slam (could be wrong).

You, wrong? Never! What is this world coming to?

I think Tennis is a sport that we have been blessed with a few characters and players down the years. Someone taking the game to new heights in each era. Always worth a watch on BBC. I won't go out of my way to watch it on Sky though.

Epic game from Muzza. In days gone by he'd not been mentally tough enough after the loss of the 4th, but Lendl has worked absolute wonders. Bring on Djoko!

2,000 for winning a slam, 1,000 for a Masters, then 500 or 250 depending on the prestige of the tournament.

Well they are to a degree. Come last year's Paris Masters - played in November - Murray, Djoker, Federer et al were totally burnt out and either withdrew or lost in the early stages.

Bloody pigeons! Hold on to your feathers

IMHO Murray's demons came back after he lost the second set, unlike the semi vs Feds where he seemed imperious.

Easy to be positive when you are winning - who is to say he ever got over his demons?

Whinging Scot until next time! Super Brit for Wimbledon perhaps?

If you watched the semi he was serving for the match and then fluffed it up, his face told me that he still believed that he could win. Didn't get that in the final sadly. Oh well, onwards and upwards to The French!
