billy best/what a pity he did not paly in a more successfull era, he was my forst hero but memoroes are blurred, why did that great southend team not gain promotion. over a 4-5 year period up to 72 what a team we had

Oooh yes, a prolific goalscorer was Billy whether alongside Gary Moore or Bill Garner. Only a bit blurred memory Keith, we were promoted as runners-up season 1971/72 and Billy got the goal that put Villa out of the FA Cup that season too! Happy days...
