I've tried looking for the thread where we had this vote but I can't find it, anyone with a better memory than me want to try?!

Having not been around to see the Blues much pre mid-eighties - I can only go with what i've seen - it's not easy but i'll go for a guy who always gave his all & was part of a very good side ........drumroll please.......... Keith Jones.

Billy Best was my first hero at roots hall and he was a great goalscorer ,in later years freddy was immense and loved ricky otto.Going way back John Kurila was a complete nutter at the back and as hard as nails. As for the best ever in a blues shirt it has to be stanley Collymore who in his short time here was simply unplayable.

billy best/what a pity he did not paly in a more successfull era, he was my forst hero but memoroes are blurred, why did that great southend team not gain promotion. over a 4-5 year period up to 72 what a team we had

Just has to be tilly, hes not my fave player from the past or even fave manager but he played for SUFC for 8 years, back to back promotions as a player then back to back promotiond as a manager, two LDV finals, Q/F of the league cup!!!!!!! simply has to be him.

Ridiculous, people aren't taking it seriously. How can you call Steve Tilson a legend?

Well i'm serious that tilly is a legend of this club, and it's my choice if thats ok with you,oh yes and i kind of think SIR Stanley was a legend with only 30 odd games but it is my choice,no harm done i reckon.:Worthy:

Some players just make more of an impact in 33 games than others do in 200 plus games.

And that's before you factor in his transfer fee bank-rolling the club for years.

Francisco Cagigao all the way for me.
