We were the better team in that half but have we capitalised on that , nope... which is always a worry if they manage to score next.

If there is a complaint about that first-half performance It would be that we don't go in with a deserved lead. Soaked up some early pressure from the visitors and then largely dominated the rest of the half. Far more positive approach and a far more entertaining watch. Just hope we don't regret not taking the chances we created.

The only chances they had were due to Goodliffe's shaky start. Apart from that, it's been all Southend. But you just get the feeling we might need about 8 chances to score with our forwards. Halifax are not busting a gut so far. I'm sure they will get a roasting at half time. I would get Bonne on for Hopper, at least Bonne is a little faster, and knows how to lose his marker. Then get Parillon on for Noor, the sooner, the better.

We look like a team low on confidence tbh. We’ve got a few sights of goal but can’t put it away, familiar theme. I’d expect Halifax to be better second half. We need to crank up the intensity big time. Get after them.
