Official Match Thread Southend United vs Halifax Town

Improvement. Need to put one of them chances away because I really don’t trust us defensively . Goodliffe looks shaky. But overall better than last 2 games .

Actually although 0-0 quite enjoyable. Thought first ten minutes we were going to get stuffed , and we still have to be aware of their pace on the break, but we've given them a few worrying moments.

could go either way, will probably end up 0-0

A reasonably first half performance. Kev absolutely insistent that we need to attack and counter quickly. Telling the forwards when to make their runs, when to go and when to stop. Like a training session.

A shaky start and Halifax bang up for it, but as the half wore on we played ourselves into the game. With a bit more composure we could be one up. Noor Husin seems intent on giving the ball away in dangerous areas. so I would hook him now ready for the second half.

Even first half , Halifax started brightly and put us under pressure for the first 15 mins and I thought here we go ….however we have dominated the final 25 mins , we had a number of corners and free kicks and have created a few half chances
bridge and Kendall getting on the ball a bit more and causing some problems whilst Walker is also showing glimmers of pace

Really like the look of their CF Cooke , very lively player

I know one should look for positives, so, OK, GSM, Taylor, Ralph a bit, but the rest?
Husin, Bridge, Kendall, Walker - despite the shot at the keeper - Hopper, Goodliffe and Morton just exasperate.
Bonne for Kendall, Parillon for Husin, please, but leave the rest on the bench; they're worse!
