Official Match Thread Southend United vs Gateshead.

They look very dangerous going forward, we don't.
Our forwards are all either newly signed or just back from injury, and we've had the disruption of three games in succession postponed... followed by a harsh lesson in clinical finishing at Chesterfield. We just need a goal or two, leading to a win or two, and Im sure our fluency going forward will look a lot sharper again.

Started well but slinked back into the routine and not looked dangerous or looking like scoring at all.

Not playing badly just normal bluntness in attack

They are playing with one at front. The second forward is dropping into midfield so they are overloading that area and always have a free pass through the middle.

There was some wisdom on the pre match thread. They are a decent team and play through the middle brilliantly. Play a very high press and have real pace. I reckon we might need to score twice to win this as I see them making one of their attacks count.

Still waiting to see why we signed Dackers... 7 goals in his last 43 games...

Also waiting to see why we signed Sandat... 2 goals in his 18 games...

Dackers provides an aerial threat and has done some good work in the air but doesn't seem to have the instinct a striker needs. Reckon Waldron for the last 30

We signed them because we were playing a CB and a utility player up top
